Course Registration
Memorandum #13 Course Registration (Effective Sept. 1, 2023)
Revised: May 4, 2023
Effective: Fall, 2023
Original Number: 120
Original Date of Issue: April 5, 1983
Policyholder: Executive Director of Enrollment Operations and Compliance
The College seeks to maintain the integrity of the academic experience. The timetable for registration provides the structure for students to request entrance to courses, which are in progress at the beginning of each term, so that there is minimal interference with instructional activities. Adjusting course registration (adding or dropping courses) within a defined period extending beyond the start of classes provides students flexibility in their plan of study with minimal impact to course performance.
Students may add or drop courses within that term, without additional approval, during the following periods:
- Through the end of the first seven calendar days from the start of a 15-week term
- Through the end of the first five calendar days from the start of a 10-week term
- Through the end of the first two calendar days of class from the start of a term that is seven weeks or shorter
After the periods listed above have ended, enrolled students may only register for additional courses with the joint and written consent of the course instructor(s). No course may be added after the second week of classes in a 15-week term or after the first week of classes in a term shorter than 15 weeks.
Tuition and fees for each semester or term are due as set forth on the College’s payment deadlines webpage. When registering for courses after the start of the term, payment for those courses is due the day the student registers. Students who withdraw from a course shorter than 15 weeks after the periods listed above have ended will be responsible for 50% of the tuition and fees associated with the course from which they have withdrawn. Students who withdraw from a 15-week course during the second week of the term will be responsible for 20% of the tuition and fees associated with the course from which they have withdrawn. Students who withdraw from a 15-week course during the third week of the term will be responsible for 40% of the tuition and fees associated with the course from which they have withdrawn. Students who withdraw from a course after the third week will be responsible for 100% of the tuition and fees associated with the course from which they have withdrawn. See table below for further clarification:

Refunds for Dropped Classes
To be eligible for any refund, the student must officially drop from the course or courses (no show withdrawals are not eligible). A refund for drop will not be issued that is greater than 100% of tuition and refundable fees minus any non-refundable fees and required deposits.
