About Public Safety
The Department of Public Safety operates 24/7 and is managed by the Director of College Public Safety. Shift managers and site officers oversee daily operations.
In addition to the security supervisors on staff at the Main Campus and Regional Centers, stationary and roving security officers provide a visible presence on campus. Security officers patrol the interior and exterior of each campus, including parking lots and other parking areas. In addition, state-of-the-art surveillance cameras located throughout our campuses are monitored by security supervisors 24 hours a day.
Campus Building Hours
The campus is open from 7 a.m. to 11p.m. Monday - Friday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. During holidays and breaks, the building is shut down completely unless prior arrangements have been made. Please notify Security if you are in the building after hours, or working in an isolated area.
Community College of Philadelphia currently has a security staff of 60. Sixteen of these officers are College employees and 45 (full and part-time) are provided through a private security agency. At any given time, a College security officer is on the premises to oversee all security-related matters.
