Architecture, Design & Construction Department

The Architecture, Design & Construction Department offers a series of Degree and Certificate Programs, which are intended to prepare students to either transfer or to secure employment. Associate of Arts degrees in Architecture or Interior Design are focused on transfer to 4 and 5-year bachelor's degree institutions. Associate of Applied Science degrees in Construction Management, Facilities Management, and Building Science focus on developing skills needed for employment in these exciting fields as well as to prepare students for transfer to bachelor's degree programs. We also offer two certificate programs in Architectural Visualization and Energy Conservation, that can be completed in one calendar year, and are also intended to prepare students for employment.

If you are uncertain which program and career path is right for you, most of the programs in the department share the same introductory courses:  ADC 101 – Introduction to Design and Construction, ADC 103 – Basic CAD, and ADC 112 - Construction Materials and Detailing. The Architecture and Interior Design programs share ADC 109 – Design Studio I.
