The College recognized Adminisitrative Professionals Day on April 25 with an Administrative Professionals’ Tea, recognizing the work of the administrative staff across the College community. The 34th annual Classified/Confidential Employees luncheon was held on Wednesday, May 9. Years of service certificates were given to staff to recognize and thank them for their dedication to the College, including three staff employees who have been with the College for 45 years.
The Academic Awards ceremony was held on May 4 at 6 p.m. in the Bonell Building Large Auditorium. The annual event celebrates the accomplishments of our talented, determined and hard-working students.
The Nursing program celebrated a milestone on May 4, 2018, graduating the College's 50th Nursing class at the annual Nursing Pinning Ceremony. Congratulations graduates, and the best of luck to all of you.
Hazim Hardeman, a kid from North Philly, a Rhodes Scholar and a Community College of Philadelphia alumnus, had a message for the city as he spoke at the College’s 52nd Commencement at The Liacouras Center on May 5: "Many of you are the first in your family to attend college, others of you are the first to graduate.
Colleagues gathered in the Klein Cube on Thursday, April 26 to honor the years of service and dedication of more than 30 retirees.
The annual President's Recognition Tea recognizes faculty and staff who have made a special contribution to the College. This year, Lisa Johnson and Michelle Myers received the President's Award for Service to the College. The President's Award for Civility/Collegiality awardees were Jackie Jenkins Harvey, Laureen Tavolaro-Ryley and Erica Harrison.
Students took a break from their studies on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the annual Spring Fling. Students gathered in the Winnet Courtyard to celebrate a successful spring semester with music, fun and food.
Students, faculty and staff advocated for financial support of community colleges during Lobby Day on April 10, 2018, at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg.
