What We Do
The Office of Special Events strives to provide the most comprehensive and efficient event support at the College. Special events create lasting images, and a sense of community and inclusion. We help define the college experience for students while enhancing the College’s value and brand. We support the College’s strategic vision by fostering inclusiveness, strengthening the student experience, supporting workforce development and economic progress, and building internal and external connections through sponsorships, facilities usage, and event support.
The Office of Special Events is a team of event planning professionals who will work closely with you to achieve your event goals through excellence in quality, service and products. Our team of experienced event professionals engage with campus partners to plan, coordinate and execute high-level experiences to deliver impeccable events.

Events Request Form
To request space on campus for your event, please complete the events request form.
Facilities Setup, Housekeeping and HVAC Services
To request setup of your space after confirmation, request housekeeping services to clean your space before and after the event, or to have the HVAC adjusted in your room, please complete the FAMIS request form found on the MyCCP portal.
Dining Services and Catering
All College events on Main Campus must use Canteen Dining Services unless otherwise approved. Regional Center events may use a licensed third-party food service provider on the College’s approved vendor list. Request catering services.
Event Promotion
To request communications to raise awareness of and promote your event, please complete the Strategic Communications Project Request Form.
Branded Displays, Yard Games or a Site Visit
To request College branded displays (based on availability), yard games or a walkthrough of your preferred event space, please complete our Special Events Request for Services Form.

To request the president at your event, please complete this form.
Multimedia Services
Our office will connect with Multimedia Services (MMS) to inform them of your event. However, if you still have questions, please contact them directly.
Office of Public Safety
Our office will connect with the Office of Public Safety to make them aware of your event. However, if you have questions, you can contact them directly.
Disability Accommodations

To request the College’s mascot Roary at your event, please contact Jenavia Weaver at jjweaver@ccp.edu.

Planning an Event
Successful programs are the result of strategic planning and thoughtful implementation. Such programs do not rely on chance or happenstance. Often, successful programs involve a group of people working together to execute a carefully organized plan. The key to successfully partnering with Special Events is to include us early in the event planning process.
About Us
The department currently supports four event types:

Goals
- Serve as the College’s one-stop shop for special event planning, production and partnership with campus partners such as Multimedia Services, Facilities, and the Office of Public Safety.
- Oversee all events and activities on campus to ensure there is efficient collaboration, partnership, and a sustainable use of college resources.
- Promote event industry growth in higher education through sustainable best practices and relationships with the College family and local community.
- Highlight the diversity of the college and city at large through special events and activities.
- Support event organizers with event production through in-person and remote consultations. The office delivers comprehensive customer service to students, staff, faculty, prospective students and families, local business affiliates, and the community.
- To collaborate directly with the office of Strategic Communications to help market and promote events at the college and citywide. We are a contributor to the College’s marketing efforts and promotion of the City’s College.
Responsibilities
The Office of Special Events follows a strategic marketing communications model. As a department, we bring to life Community College of Philadelphia’s brand through conferences, meetings and events. We support, coordinate and direct milestone events that include Commencement, College anniversaries, galas, and events that celebrate the success of our students, staff, and faculty. The Office of Special Events will assist in developing events and activities that support and enhance our institutional mission and goals, contributing to the accomplishment of objectives in academics, community relations, enrollment, and image building.
