Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' Non-Traditional Bachelor's Degree Programs
Community College of Philadelphia has a program-to-program transfer agreement with Thomas Jefferson University’s non-traditional bachelor’s degree programs offered through their East Falls campus.
The Agreement applies to students who enter Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls as full-time or part-time undergraduate students. Courses are offered in accelerated, hybrid and online formats and individualized advising is available to all students.
Admissions Eligibility
Under the Agreement with Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor's degree programs, Community College of Philadelphia students shall be admitted to Thomas Jefferson University, provided they:
- Graduate from Community College of Philadelphia with an Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.) or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in one of the approved programs listed.
- Achieve a minimum cumulative 2.0 Community College of Philadelphia grade point average (GPA).
- Satisfy all other applicable Thomas Jefferson University Admissions requirements.
- Complete a Thomas Jefferson University admission application the semester before the student plans to matriculate to Thomas Jefferson University (or by no later than 36 months after graduating from Community College of Philadelphia).
Note:
- Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor's degree programs do NOT qualify for dual admissions.
- Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor's degree programs Admissions Representative and/or a Community College of Philadelphia Academic Advisor or Counselor to develop a course-taking strategy to maximize course transferability.
- A minimum grade of "C" is required for a course to transfer to Thomas Jefferson University.
- Students are responsible for sending official transcripts to Thomas Jefferson University for evaluation of credit from Community College of Philadelphia and any other attended institutions attended, including military transcripts. Credit may also be awarded for AP, CLEP, etc. with appropriate documentation. Developmental courses are not eligible for transfer.
- The maximum number of credits that can transfer to Thomas Jefferson University's non-traditional programs is 87. Students enrolled in an undergraduate program of study at Thomas Jefferson University are required to complete a minimum of 33 credits including at least 9 credits of the Creativity and Leadership Core and at least 12 credits of the major requirements at Thomas Jefferson University.
- Community College of Philadelphia students who earn an appropriate associate degree (as listed below) must transfer at least 60 credits to be assured third-year status at Thomas Jefferson University.
- Students are advised to follow the Transfer Guides provided to assure that they are meeting the appropriate associate degree and courses for the best transfer into Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor's degree programs.
- Students who have pursued a Community College of Philadelphia associate degree program other than those designated in this Agreement or who do not earn an associate degree in the designated curricula and who wish to transfer to Thomas Jefferson University are not covered by this Agreement. Such students will be considered for admission on an individual basis and their credits will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis.

Transfer guides are created and maintained to help students and staff make appropriate course and program choices. The guides show how the requirements for the appropriate Community College of Philadelphia associate degree transfer to non-traditional bachelor's degrees at Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls. It is, however, possible for program requirements at Community College of Philadelphia or the transfer institution to change without advanced notice.
Students are advised to visit with a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor for further assistance.
Tuition Discount and Financial Aid
To encourage Community College of Philadelphia graduates to transfer to Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor's degree programs, they agree to the following:
Application Fee
Thomas Jefferson University will waive the application fee for students who apply to Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls non-traditional programs.
Academic Tuition Discounts
Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor's degree programs agrees to award the following tuition discounts to Community College of Philadelphia graduates:
3.5 to 4.0 final cumulative CCP GPA |
25% off per credit |
3.0 to 3.49 final cumulative CCP GPA |
20% off per credit |
All tuition discounts are awarded using the final cumulative Community College of Philadelphia GPA as noted in the official Community College of Philadelphia transcript, honoring Community College of Philadelphia’s academic amnesty and time amnesty policies. Thomas Jefferson University also agrees to not recalculate a student’s GPA to include grades from any other colleges or universities they may have attended.
To qualify for these Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor's degree program tuition discounts students must adhere to the following:
- Graduate from Community College of Philadelphia with an associate degree.
- Apply, be accepted and enroll in Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor’s degree program within three years of graduation from Community College of Philadelphia.
- Once enrolled at Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls' non-traditional bachelor's degree programs, students are not permitted to take courses at other institutions without the written permission from their program’s Dean’s Office.
- Sign a scholarship/discount agreement that acknowledges a clear understanding of the regulations listed above.
All tuition discounts will be renewed each term contingent upon the student maintaining satisfactory academic progress as defined by the government to qualify for federal and state financial aid programs.
Financial Aid
- All students will be provided with Thomas Jefferson University financial aid information and receive full consideration for financial aid upon matriculation at Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls.
- Financial Aid will be awarded to Community College of Philadelphia students on the same basis as all other Thomas Jefferson University-East Falls students. They will have equal access to all state and federal financial aid programs.
- Students are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) before May 1st each year to determine if they are eligible for a state grant.

Students interested in transfer to bachelor's degree programs other than those listed should contact a Thomas Jefferson University undergraduate admissions representative and/or meet with a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor to discuss an appropriate plan of transfer.
