On July 1, 2017 Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University joined together to form one university. Students can enroll at Jefferson University – Center City (formerly Thomas Jefferson University) or Jefferson University – East Falls (formerly Philadelphia University).

The Community College of Philadelphia has a program-to-program transfer agreement with Jefferson University – East Falls’ School of Continuing and Professional Studies. To benefit from this Agreement, students must earn an  associate degree before transfer.

Under this Agreement, Jefferson University – East Falls’ accelerated bachelor’s degree completion program will accept all or most of the courses from any associate degree from Community College of Philadelphia to satisfy half of the bachelor’s degree guaranteeing junior status.

Additionally, the Community College of Philadelphia has a General Agreement with Jefferson University – Center City which does not require the completion of an associate degree at Community College of Philadelphia, and is based on satisfaction of Jefferson University course prerequisites, academic performance and recommendation letters. These are created and maintained to help students and staff make appropriate course and program choices. The guides show how the requirements for the appropriate Community College of Philadelphia associate degree transfer to the bachelor's institution. It is, however, possible for program requirements at Community College of Philadelphia or the transfer institution to change without advanced notice.

Transfer guides are not available for all programs. Students are advised to visit with a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor for further assistance.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Tuition Discounts

Community College of Philadelphia graduates who enroll in Jefferson University - East Falls’ Accelerated BS Degree Completion Program are eligible to receive a tuition discount based on their final cumulative Community College of Philadelphia GPA as follows:

  • 3.5 to 4.0 final cumulative CCP GPA = 25% off tuition per credit
  • 3.0 to 3.49 final cumulative CCP GPA = 20% off tuition per credit

 Tuition discounts are renewable with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at Jefferson University.

Financial Aid

Students transferring to Jefferson University are fully eligible for federal, state and additional institutional aid, based on need and/or merit.

Transfer students will be awarded financial aid on the same basis as all Jefferson University students and will have equal access to all state and federal financial aid programs.

Approved Degree Programs and Transfer Guides

The following associate degree programs at Community College of Philadelphia are approved for corresponding degree programs at Jefferson University.

Please note that there are two different locations for programs offered at Jefferson University. The programs offered at Jefferson University – Center City are labeled “Center City” and those offered through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies located at Jefferson University – East Falls are labeled “Prof Studies.”
