Community College of Philadelphia has two types of transfer agreements with The Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses: dual admissions and program-to-program. To benefit from these Agreements students must earn an appropriate associate degree before transfer. These Agreements are not exclusive of one another and can complement one another.

Dual Admissions

As part of a statewide Agreement, The Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses and the Pennsylvania Community Colleges have developed a dual admissions Agreement.

This Agreement, facilitates the transfer of Community College of Philadelphia graduates into one of the following 19 Pennsylvania State (Penn State) University Commonwealth Campuses:

The University Park campus of Pennsylvania State University is not included in this Agreement.

Community College of Philadelphia students who earn an appropriate associate degree and meet all the conditions are guaranteed admissions with third-year (junior) status into an appropriate matching major for the purpose of earning a bachelor's degree program at one of the Pennsylvania State Commonwealth Campuses listed.

Admissions into a particular major is not guaranteed. Support and financial incentives, including scholarship awards, are built-in to offer students the best opportunity for success.

Students who do not qualify for dual admissions, are still eligible to transfer to a Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campus through their regular transfer admissions process.

Penn State Abington, Brandywine or Harrisburg Commonwealth Campuses

For dual admissions transfer to Pennsylvania State University's Abington, Brandywine or Harrisburg campuses, please review the dual admissions eligibility and list of approved programs below.

Students interested in dual admissions transfer to any of the other Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses must pursue a different process.

These are Agreements in which an entire curriculum or program of study is accepted, so graduates of these specific associate degree programs transfer with advanced standing to a matching specific bachelor's degree program at one of Pennsylvania State University's Commonwealth Campuses.

Dual Admissions Eligibility

To be eligible for dual admissions Pennsylvania State University's Abington, Brandywine or Harrisburg campuses, students must:

• Submit a Community College of Philadelphia dual admissions intent form before earning no more than 45 graded college level credits (grades of A, B, C, D, F) from Community College of Philadelphia or any other college/university. Once a student has completed this form, they are strongly encouraged to contact a Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campus admissions representative and meet with a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor to develop a course-taking strategy.
• Students interested in programs NOT offered in the list of approved majors below should submit the Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses' intent form for consideration.
• Complete the Pennsylvania State University admissions application for the appropriate Commonwealth Campus and submit appropriate admissions materials upon completion of 45 credits or during the last semester at Community College of Philadelphia.
• Graduate from Community College of Philadelphia with an Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.) or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in one of the approved programs listed.
• Achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 from Community College of Philadelphia and from all previously attended institutions of higher education; be in good standing and free from probation.
• Enroll directly to one of Pennsylvania State University's Commonwealth Campuses within one year of completing an associate degree program of study from Community College of Philadelphia and not attend another institution between graduation and attendance at Pennsylvania State University.

To submit a Community College of Philadelphia Dual Admissions intent form (for the programs listed below), login to MyCCP and find "Transfer/Dual Admissions" on the top right side of the MyGPS tab.

NOTE:

• Students previously matriculated to Pennsylvania State University may not be eligible for dual admissions into Pennsylvania State University and are advised to consult with a Pennsylvania State University admissions representative for details.
• For dual admissions transfer to programs not included in the list of approved majors at Penn State Abington, Brandywine or Harrisburg campuses, please submit Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses' intent form.
• Pennsylvania State University's University Park (main) campus of is not included in this Agreement. For information about the University Park campus, please contact a Pennsylvania State University admissions representative.
• Admissions is guaranteed into the institution and not a particular major; students must also meet the entry to major requirements as specified by Pennsylvania State University.
• The maximum number of semester hours that can transfer into a Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campus depends on the academic program. Students enrolled in an undergraduate program of study at one of the Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses are required to complete 36 of the last 60 credits at Pennsylvania State University, including at least half of the requirements in the major or area of specialization.
• Students are responsible for sending Pennsylvania State University official transcripts for evaluation of credit from all attended institutions, including military transcripts.
• A full-time student will be admitted with third-year (junior) status to a Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campus pre-approved programs provided the student completes the appropriate associate degree program at Community College of Philadelphia.
• Students will be asked to notify Pennsylvania State University of any criminal history prior to enrollment. A prior criminal history issue will not necessarily disqualify a student from attending Penn State, but may make their application subject to further review.
• Students admitted under this Agreement who seek to enter a major at another Pennsylvania State University college/campus, would be evaluated based on the advanced standing admissions criteria of that college and campus.

Advantages of Dual Admissions

Students who participate in dual admissions are eligible for the following benefits:

• Application fee to Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses will be waived. Please ask the admissions representative for the code.
• Academic orientation to transferring students for the purpose of providing academic advising, and an orientation to academic and technology resources, student life and career services, and financial aid and billing information.
• Scholarships of up to $7,000 for students who meet the appropriate eligibility requirements.
• Informational meetings with Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses staff at Community College of Philadelphia's main campus for assistance in matriculating into one of the Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Community College of Philadelphia students who earn an approved associate degree and enroll at a Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campus will receive academic scholarships of up to $7,000 if they meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Participate in the RaiseME Transfer Scholarship and follow Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses on the RaiseMe platform.
• Enroll and earn micro-scholarships during their enrollment at Community College of Philadelphia
• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.8
• File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually

Financial Aid

All Community College of Philadelphia graduates will be provided with need-based and other types of financial aid; and will receive information and full consideration for financial aid monies for matriculation to Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campus.

Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campus agrees to treat Community College of Philadelphia students in the same manner as other Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campus students of equal class standing when applying for financial aid and in the award and distribution of funds, subject to appropriate regulations.

Students are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) as soon as possible or before May 1st each year to determine if they are eligible for a state grant.

Approved Academic Degree Programs

The following Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.) and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree programs at Community College of Philadelphia are approved for Dual Admissions to the corresponding degree programs at located at the following Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses.

Students who do not qualify for dual admission and/or are interested in transfer for programs or Pennsylvania State University Commonwealth Campuses other than those listed, including those offered at Pennsylvania State University's main campus should contact the Pennsylvania State University campus of interest and speak with an admissions representative.
