Ms. Sharmon Bryant, MSW
Project Director
Ms. Sharmon Bryant has provided retention research, advisement, and advocacy services for diverse student populations at both private and public institutions, including Penn State Delco, Cabrini, and Millersville University. She has worked on previous Title III grant initiatives at Cabrini University, Cheyney University, and Albright College. At Millersville, she served as full-time faculty in the Department of Academic Advising and Student Development, with program coordination and professional development responsibilities for the Exploratory Program for undeclared students. Sharmon was employed as Regional Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Department of Education Student Assistance Program (SAP), facilitating technical assistance and training for County Administrators and School Personnel on barriers related to student persistence and success. Her teaching background includes First-year Experience, Career Development, Leadership, Diversity/Multiculturalism, and Student Success. Sharmon earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Howard University in Washington, DC. She is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and gospel musician.
Wenonah M. Carney, M.A.R.
Financial Literacy Success Coach
Ms. Wenonah M. Carney is a doctoral student in Temple University’s Department of Religion. She is an instructor of record for several undergraduate courses in the religion department. Ms. Carney has a distinguished record of creating and developing financial literacy curriculum, educational tools and workshops for non-profit agencies. She has energy and passion for helping others gain financial stability and success. She holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Westminster Theological Seminary. Her current research on the decline of female ritual leadership in early Christian Montanism will be published in upcoming academic journals.
Dr. Stephanie Scordia, Ed.D.
Coordinator of Professional Learning
Dr. Scordia has been a member of the English Department at Community College of Philadelphia since fall 2008. She began as an adjunct instructor after earning her MA in English from West Chester University in 2007 and became a full-time member of the faculty in 2010. Since that time, she has served in many roles at the College, from Placement Coordinator to faculty advisor to the award-winning developmental English literary magazine,
The Cypher, to her current role as co-chair of the MSCHE Self-Study Steering Committee. She also served on the Strategic Plan Committee, the General Education Task Force, and was Associate Chair of the English Department from 2015-2019. During that time, Stephanie earned her EdD with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. Stephanie has been committed to professional learning at the College through her time as co-facilitator of the Faculty Center for Teaching & Learning, and, as Professional Learning Coordinator under the Title III grant, she is looking forward to expanding those efforts.
Dr. Woosly Calixte, Ed.D.
Coordinator of Student Success Pathways
Dr. Calixte is a seasoned higher education professional with a background in Faculty development, and Administrative support. He is a proud Haitian-American native to South Florida holding a Bachelors of Arts degree in Biology from Southern Adventist University, a Masters degree in Higher Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University, and a doctorate degree in Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership. Dr. Calixte is committed to student success, supporting traditional and non-traditional students. At Broward College in Fort. Lauderdale, FL. he held Advising leadership roles for the Business, Social Behavioral Sciences, and Exploratory Guided Academic Pathways. Dr. Calixte also served as Chair of the Florida Association of Colleges Student Development Commission. He is dedicated to helping students reach their untapped potential. and to inspire change that will improve the lives of others.
Ms. Melissa Altman-Traub MS, RDN, LDN
Pathways Student Success Outreach Specialist
Ms. Melissa Altman-Traub joined the College in 2003 as an adjunct nutrition instructor in the Allied Health Department and has served as a full-time faculty member since 2013. A registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, her career history includes acute/long-term care, dialysis, private practice, and nutrition support. Melissa has led learning communities for the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, assisted with the Online Instructional Facilitation Team, and served as a federation representative for Allied Health. Additional previous roles include part-time academic advisor, and member of the Student Support, Curriculum, and Safety committees. Melissa earned a B.S. in Nutrition from Penn State, and an M.S. in Health Education from Arcadia University. She actively volunteers with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Diversity Dietetics, the RD Mentorship program, 4-H, and a local cat shelter. A native Philadelphian, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and cooking
