Community College of Philadelphia has three types of transfer agreements with Rutgers University - Camden: dual admissions, core-to-core and program-to-program. To benefit from any of these agreements students must earn an appropriate associate degree before transfer. These agreements are not exclusive of one another and the agreements can complement one another.

Dual Admissions

Rutgers University - Camden and Community College of Philadelphia have developed a dual admissions agreement. This agreement is designed to assist students who earn an appropriate associate degree to transfer to Rutgers University - Camden. Rutgers University - Camden guarantees admissions on the condition that students meet all the requirements.

Admissions into a particular major is not guaranteed. Upon transfer, students earn junior standing for matching majors. Support and financial incentives, including scholarship awards, are built-in to offer students the best opportunity for success.

Dual Admissions Eligibility

Students who do not qualify for dual admissions, are still eligible to transfer to Rutgers University - Camden. Please review the list of approved programs below and visit with a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor for further assistance.

Core-to-Core

Rutgers University - Camden and Community College of Philadelphia have a core-to-core agreement. In this, Rutgers University - Camden agrees to accept the General Education embedded in Community College of Philadelphia’s Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Science (A.S.) or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree as meeting all the requirements of its undergraduate General Education requirements.

This core-to-core agreement applies to all A.A., A.S. and A.A.S. degrees and is not limited to students who participate in dual admissions. Core-to-core transfer does not alter the requirements of the student's major field of study.

Program-to-Program

These are agreements in which an entire curriculum or program of study is accepted, so graduates of these specific associate degree programs transfer with advanced standing to a matching specific bachelor's degree program at Rutgers University - Camden.

Dual Admissions Eligibility

Rutgers University - Camden welcomes applicants to the Dual Admissions Program in order to facilitate the transfer of students from Community College of Philadelphia to Rutgers University - Camden with third-year (junior) status for the purpose of entering a bachelor’s degree program.

To be eligible for this program, students must:

• Submit a dual admissions intent form before earning no more than 45 graded college level credits (grades of A, B, C, D, F) from Community College of Philadelphia or any other college/university. Students completing this form are strongly encouraged to contact a Rutgers University - Camden admissions representative and meet with a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor to develop a course-taking strategy.
• Complete the Rutgers University - Camden admissions application form during the last semester prior to their graduation from Community College of Philadelphia by a recommended date of November 1 for Spring admissions or July 15 for Fall admissions (for the Nursing RN to BSN program, applications must be submitted by February 1 and transcripts must be received by February 15).
• Graduate from Community College of Philadelphia with an Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.) or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in one of the approved programs listed.
• Achieve a minimum Community College of Philadelphia cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (or 3.0 for Nursing RN to BSN; certain majors may require higher GPAs). Only courses with a grade of C or higher will be eligible for transfer.
• Enroll directly to Rutgers University - Camden within two semesters, excluding summer, of completing an associate degree from Community College of Philadelphia and not attend another institution between graduation and attendance at Rutgers University - Camden.

To submit a Dual Admissions intent form, login to MyCCP and find "Transfer/Dual Admissions" on the top right side of the MyGPS tab.

NOTE:

• Students who have previously been matriculated to Rutgers University - Camden are not eligible for the Rutgers University - Camden dual admissions program.
• Dual admissions does not guarantee admissions into selective majors at Rutgers University - Camden. Visit with a Rutgers University - Camden undergraduate admissions representative and/or a Community College of Philadelphia academic advisor or counselor for further details.
• Rutgers University – Camden requires matriculated students to complete half of their major courses at the University. Rutgers University - Camden will accept a maximum of 60 credits from two-year institutions. In addition, up to 30 credits can be completed at a baccalaureate institution, CLEP, ACE or military transcripts for a total of 90 credits maximum. All students are required to complete their last 30 credits as matriculates of Rutgers University – Camden. Rutgers University – Camden's residency requirement may be satisfied by taking Rutgers University courses offered by Rutgers units at an off-campus location or on-line. Courses taken as exchange registration do not apply to the residency requirement.
• The combined total credits required to complete the degree could increase if an articulated program is not followed or prerequisite courses are not completed with the required grade to satisfy the requirement (C or better).
• A full-time student admitted with third-year (junior) status to Rutgers University - Camden will be able to complete most bachelor's degrees at Rutgers University –Camden within four fall/spring semesters provided the student completes the appropriate associate degree program at Community College of Philadelphia and completes the appropriate sequence of their remaining course work at Rutgers University - Camden. If the student does not fulfill needed prerequisites for the program in which they enroll at Rutgers University – Camden during their associate degree program at Community College of Philadelphia, then additional credits or semesters may be required.
• Community College of Philadelphia graduates must submit final transcripts by October 15 to Rutgers University – Camden for students enrolling in the fall semester and February 15 for students enrolling in the spring semester at Rutgers University – Camden.

Advantages of Dual Admissions

Students who participate in dual admissions are eligible for the following benefits:

• Application fee to Rutgers University - Camden will be waived. (Students who submit a dual admissions intent form for Rutgers University - Camden will automatically be waived from the application fee when responding "Yes" that they are a member of the dual admissions "Partnership Program.")
• Scholarships for dual admissions students enrolled full-time (12 or more credits) or part-time (1 – 11 credits) with a 2.5 or higher Community College of Philadelphia cumulative GPA.
• Informational meetings with Rutgers University - Camden staff at Rutgers University - Camden’s campus and Community College of Philadelphia main campus for assistance in matriculating to Rutgers University - Camden.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Scholarships

Community College of Philadelphia Dual Admissions students who enroll on a full-time or part-time basis will be awarded an annual merit scholarship based on the Community College of Philadelphia cumulative GPA as noted below. Full-time enrollment is defined as 12 or more credits per semester; part-time enrollment is defined as 1 to 11 credits a semester. Scholarships are only awarded for the fall and spring semesters and may be renewable contingent upon the students remaining in good academic standing while at Rutgers University - Camden.

School of Business

Full-time at Rutgers University - Camden: enrolled in 12 or more credits a semester

• GPA 3.65 to 4.00 = $17,000 per year
• GPA 3.30 to 3.64 = $16,000 per year
• GPA 3.00 to 3.29 = $15,000 per year
• GPA 2.5 to 2.99 = $13,000 per year

Part-time at Rutgers University - Camden: enrolled in 6 to 11 credits a semester
Delaware Valley Scholarship

• GPA 3.0 to 4.0 = Minimum $535 per credit
• GPA 2.5 to 2.99 = Minimum $435 per credit

College of Arts & Sciences

Full-time at Rutgers University - Camden: enrolled in 12 or more credits a semester

• GPA 3.65 to 4.00 = $17,000 per year
• GPA 3.25 to 3.69 = $16,000 per year
• GPA 2.5 to 3.24 = $14,000 per year

Part-time at Rutgers University - Camden: enrolled in 6 to 11 credits a semester
Delaware Valley Scholarship

• GPA 3.25 to 4.0 = Minimum of $525 per credit
• GPA 2.5 to 3.24 = Minimum of $450 per credit

School of Nursing

Full-time at Rutgers University - Camden: enrolled in 12 or more credits a semester

• GPA 3.5 to 4.00 = $250 per credit for a 3-credit course and $350 per credit for a 6-credit course
• GPA 3.0 to 3.49 = $200 per credit for a 3-credit course and $300 per credit for a 6-credit course
• GPA 2.7 to 2.99 = $50 per credit for a 3-credit course and $150 per credit for a 6-credit course

Financial Aid

In addition to the dual admissions scholarship, students may also be eligible for need-based financial aid and other types of financial aid. Transfer students will be provided with Financial Aid information and be awarded Financial Aid on the same basis as all Rutgers University - Camden students.
