Please join us to listen to what Dr. Chris Callison-Burch has to tell us about ChatGPT. Dr. Callison-Burch is an Associate Professor of Computer & Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania. With the breakthrough success of ChatGPT, many people are being exposed to large language models (LLMs) for the first time. Prof. Callison-Burch is an expert in natural language processing who has been in the field for 20 years, and has been using the OpenAI GPT model since 2021. He'll explain how LLMs work, what they can and cannot currently do, and answer any questions that you have. Who Wants to be a Fulbright Scholar? (3/30/2023)
Dr. Garvey Lundy, Associate Professor of Sociology at Montgomery County Community College, was a 2017-2018 Fulbright Scholar at the University of Yaoundé, in the central African country of Cameroon. Since then, he has been selected by Fulbright to be an ambassador for the program where he promotes the program to faculty members in colleges and universities around the country. CCP's Dr. Tabitha Morgan was the Garcia-Robles Chair in History for Fulbright in 2021-2022 at University of Veracruz. In this session, Dr. Garvey and Dr. Morgan will discuss the challenges and rewards of Fulbrighting while working at a community college. To view the recording of the session:

Changes to Developmental English and Foundational Math (October 14, 2022)
Implementing a HIP in the Classroom (January 13, 2022)
Last semester, approximately 40 faculty from across the College were involved in a professional learning experience focused on implementing one of the following High-Impact Practices (HIPs) in their classes: Active Learning, Collaborative Learning, Open Educational Resources (OER), and Problem-Based Learning. In this 90-minute session, you will hear firsthand from members of the Title III Professional Learning Core Team and members of the virtual learning communities. After a brief overview of the HIP, faculty discuss an assignment they used to incorporate their HIP and reflect on challenges and successes.
