How the President's Awards are Administered:

  • A single Awards Committee consisting of up to 10 employees will review nominations for all of the President's Awards except the President's Award for Diversity, which remains under the auspices of the Office of Diversity and Equity.
  • Members of the President's Awards Committee will solicit nominations from employees but are also able to make their own nominations. Members of the Awards Committee are not eligible to win an award while they are actively serving on the committee.
  • All full and part-time employees (with the exception of Awards Committee members) are eligible to be nominated. Student workers are not eligible. Nominations will be evaluated based upon effort "above and beyond" an individual's job requirements. For example, a member of the faculty who works in the Learning Lab could not use their work as a tutor to qualify. Self-nominations are not permitted.
  • While up-to three individuals may be honored in each award category, it is up to the discretion of the President to decide how many individuals will actually be honored. In other words, the President might decide that only one or two individuals will be honored in a given year in a given category.
  • Honorees will each receive a taxable award of $300 and a certificate recognizing their achievement.
  • Honorees will be announced at the President's Recognition Tea held each year near the end of the spring semester.
  • The President's Award for Diversity will be administered similarly, with members of the President's Diversity Council serving as the Award Committee. The criteria for the President's Award for Diversity have been updated to reflect an internal focus that recognizes those who foster understanding among diverse groups at the Community College of Philadelphia. Up to three honorees will be recognized.
