Diversity Certificate Program
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council are excited to continue the Diversity Certificate program this academic year. Faculty, staff and administration are all encouraged to participate in this program, which offers training and guided roundtable dialogues across a range of diversity issues.
The Diversity Certificate program is an important part of the College's commitment to diversity and inclusion. This effort demonstrates the institution’s continued support of faculty and staff reflecting on and improving their cultural competencies, and understanding how culture influences our perceptions, behaviors, and beliefs. Our certificate program provides secure spaces for facilitated difficult dialogues and hands-on activities that promote inclusion in all levels of our institution.
Employees who attend at least four designated Diversity Training events will earn an official Diversity Certificate. Employees who attend more than four sessions will receive a certificate that corresponds with one of the three-tiered competency levels below. To publicly recognize your dedication to diversity, you will also receive a sticker to display in your workspace.
Bronze Certificate—Four training events
Silver Certificate—Eight training events
Gold Certificate—Twelve training events, plus a diversity project and a capstone interview
If you have any questions about the Diversity Certificate program or have an idea for a training or roundtable, please do not hesitate to contact Leila Lawrence.
