Melissa Altman-Traub

Melissa Altman-Traub MS, RDN, LDN taught at the College as an adjunct in 1996, and then returned in 2003, teaching Dietetics 111, Introduction in Nutrition, in person and online. She became a full-time faculty member in 2013, and also teaches AH 101, Introduction to Health Care. She is also a part-time academic adviser. Melissa holds a B.S. in Nutrition from the Pennsylvania State University and M.S. in Health Education from Arcadia University. She is a registered dietitian nutritionist and worked in many areas of dietetics, specializing in the nutrition care of renal dialysis patients for ten years before joining the College full time. She has recently served as the Hunger and Environmental Nutrition dietetic practice group e-zine co-editor and newsletter co-editor. She volunteers for Cat Tales, Inc. and is a co-leader of a 4-H cat club for children.

Erin Aronowitz

Erin joined the college in 2018 as a member of the Student Accounts team in the Bursar’s Office. She helps students better understand their bills, troubleshoot billing discrepancies, and oversee the collections database. Prior to joining the College, she worked as an ESL teacher at Philadelphia University in the Bridge Pathways program. She also lived abroad in Santiago, Chile for a year and a half teaching business English to international corporations. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Rutgers University and an International Diploma of English Language Teaching from Bridge Education. Tyreice Dupass

Tyreice joined the College in 2018 and is the Director of Facilities Operations in the Division of Finance. His duties include overseeing the coordination of repairs and preventive maintenance, assisting in the oversight of construction projects, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Tyreice works with the Associate Vice President of Facilities and Construction to create annual and Capital budgets and oversee College expenditures and collaborates with instructional and administrative staff to maintain quality support of our students. Before joining the College, he served as the Associate Director of Maintenance Operations for Temple University's Division for Student Affairs, as an Administrative Inspector for Real Estate development at the New York City Department of Buildings, and as an Assistant Construction Superintendent with Gotham Real Estate Developers. Tyreice holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science Administration and a Master's Degree in Construction Management from Thomas Jefferson University. He is a member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the International Facilities Management Association. His hobbies include gardening, wine tasting, enjoying fine art and classic architecture, and eating Crab cakes off the Chesapeake in Baltimore Harbor.

Juanita Henry

Juanita joined the College full-time at the end of 2017 as the Administrative Associate to the Dean of Students. She manages the Dean’s schedule, budget and communication, as well as maintaining and coordinating judicial cases. Prior to joining the College, she worked for 17 years at Harambee Institute of Science & Technology Charter School where she held various positions from Kindergarten teacher to Writing Workshop Instructor to Student Information Systems Manager (at times, simultaneously). Juanita holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rider University. She just completed her term as Board Secretary and currently still serves as Worship Team Leader at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. She is an educator at heart and an avid believer in lifelong learning.

David-Ann Johnson

David-Ann joined the College in 2018 as a Part-time Administrative Assistant of the Academic Advising Department. Currently, she serves as an Administrative Associate to the Department Head of the Counseling Department. She assists students and staff throughout the academic year to support their educational goals. Prior to coming to work at the College, David-Ann spent a portion of her career at the Federal Government level, Public Education and International Business Sectors in her home country, Liberia. In the effort to educate and transform the lives of her people, she served as Vice President for the States Exchange Alumni Association (SEAL) in Liberia. Some of the activities included teaching community dwellers to engage in dialogue instead of violence during the period of national elections. Throughout her career, she has worked passionately and diligently to maintain great working relationships with colleagues while providing great value to the numerous team projects that she’s been tasked with leading. She holds a BBA in Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Procurement Management from the African Methodist Episcopal University and the University of Liberia, respectively. In keeping with the strong desire for further studies, she looks forward to pursuing her Masters in the United States.

Elisa King

Elisa joined the College in 2016 and is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Department. She provides counseling services at the college; including career and transfer counseling as well as working closely with students on academic probation and those experiencing crisis situations. Prior to joining the College, she worked in mental health counseling for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and as a Counselor at Pennsylvania Institute of Technology. Elisa earned a Bachelor of Communications Studies and Sociology from Millersville University and a Master in Human Services Counseling from Lincoln University. Elisa also holds a Master of Divinity from Biblical Seminary. She is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal church and serves at Mt Tabor AME Church. Elisa enjoys traveling, music, dancing and cooking.

Kelly Lake

Kelly joined the College in January 2019 and is the Child Care Specialist in the Women's Outreach and Advocacy Center helping to coordinate the College's Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) federal grant program, awarded by the Department of Education. This program supports the participation of low-income parents in post-secondary education through the provision of child care stipends that are paid directly to child care providers. Prior to joining the College, she worked as a Recruiter for a childcare staffing agency, a Director of a childcare facility, and a Preschool Teacher. Kelly holds her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Anthropology and Teacher Education from Stockton University. She currently volunteers as an Alumni Advisor for her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma, at St. Joe's University. Kelly enjoys spending time with family and friends and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles!

Qurana Moody

Qurana Moody joined the College in February 2018 as the Marketing Specialist in the Marketing and Communications Department. She oversees the digital communications distributed to the College’s current and perspective student body as well as faculty and staff. She manages the marketing and communication schedule for the enrollment and retention based initiatives. In collaboration with the department, Qurana contributes written work to the production of the College’s magazine, Pathways. Prior to joining the College, Qurana worked at Philadelphia Corporation for Aging as the Multimedia Specialist and as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Qurana is also a licensed Pennsylvania REALTOR® with Keller Williams Real Estate and actively practices real estate duties and investing in her free time.

Sean Morris

Sean Morris joined Community College of Philadelphia’s Office of Institutional Research in 2015. Primarily, he manages and communicates College-related data which is used to support policy and decision making on campus. Sean holds a master’s degree in Psychology from West Chester University, where prior to joining CCP, he worked with a research lab investigating the impact of chronic poverty on early learning. Sean is an active neighbor in his Germantown community and volunteers for a local community garden. He is a father and takes every opportunity to travel with his family.

Vincent Panjikaran

Vincent is a CPA who joined CCP in June 2018 as Accounts Receivable Manager at the Bursar Office. Process simplification and improvement to enhance student experience in areas of 3rd party sponsored programs, overseeing timely processing of payment transactions and account reconciliations. Prior to CCP, he worked at Colgate Palmolive for many years in their corporate headquarters in NY in various Finance functions, South Africa as Budget Director and Middle East as the Financial Director.

Rosetta Robinson

Rosetta was employed by Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) in June 2018 as an Administrative Support Specialist in the Division of Liberal Studies. She supports one of the largest departments at the college, English, and assists other Liberal Studies departments when requested. Some of her responsibilities include assigning faculty schedules into Banner, ARGOS reports, and ensuring offices are ready for occupancy. Other duties include specific projects for the Liberal Studies Dean and Assistant Dean. As a volunteer, Rosetta works on a few committees for special projects during professional development week and with community events to recruit students. She is active in her church community as a worship leader. Prior to joining CCP, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for a church. Rosetta earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Pierce College, a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Business Management from Eastern University.

Anne Slivjak

Anne, an Assistant Professor in Nursing, joined CCP fulltime in 2015 following eleven years as an adjunct clinical instructor. She teaches in the first year nursing program and has been a program co-coordinator since 2017. Anne received a Bachelor in Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in 1986 and completed a Master’s in Nursing (Oncology Track) from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. Anne has been employed since 1990 at Fox Chase Cancer Center in various nursing roles including nursing research, radiation oncology, medical- surgical nursing, management and nursing supervision. Anne has been a long term advocate for the American Diabetes Association; this advocacy includes an annual week volunteering as a nurse at a local sleep away camp for children with type 1 diabetes. Anne is an avid reader and a somewhat regular yoga practitioner.

Ida Swindle-Jewell

Ida has worked for the College for 30 years. Ida began working at Community College in 1977 on 11th street and worked in the Financial Aid Office as a Financial Aid Clerk. She prepared the student financial aid award by typewriter and also worked as a troubleshooter to answer student questions at the counter. Ida stopped work for a while and then returned to the College at its new location on 17th Street. In her current position she works as Office Administrative Associate B and assists with all leadership programs in the Center for Student Leadership Development. The programs are Philadelphia L.E.A.D.S. Leadership Program, Lion Leader Ambassador, Lion Leader Customer Service Representative, Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa and The Vanguard. Ida oversees the Lion Leaders daily in the office and ensures the work flow goes smoothly. She books and prepares the Center's annual office calendar for all events and maintains her supervisor's work calendar. Ida assists colleagues when needed. Ida has an Associate Degree in Office Technology/Certificate in Office Science. She volunteers with Dobbins Tech high school annually at their Female Leadership workshops.She also enjoys singing.

Sajeda Virji

Sajeda joined the College in May 2017 as Coordinator, Student Life Marketing & Engagement. In her role as a member of the Division of Student Development, Sajeda initiates and manages projects and initiatives through various engagement strategies – the ultimate goal being to enhance the overall student experience. Venturing into the world of internal marketing and communication strategies at the College has been an incredible opportunity. This, in addition to working with the College’s inspiring students and amazing staff, has made the venture into student engagement an exciting and rewarding challenge, and has ignited a new passion in Sajeda for student development. Sajeda came to the College from Vancouver, BC (Canada) with more than 9 years of industry experience in higher education and economic development and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Simon Fraser University. Both have provided her with the framework and versatility to work in any industry and medium, such as digital, traditional media and event driven initiatives. In her spare time, Sajeda enjoys volunteering with organizations such as Child Aid International, traveling, spending time with her loved ones and exploring her new hometown of Philadelphia!

IKelvin Veale

Kelvin joined the Community College of Philadelphia in 2017, as the Academic Technology Specialist for the Division of Flexible Learning and Academic Technology. Prior to joining the College, Kelvin served as an Instructional Technology Coordinator for Guilford County Schools in Greensboro, North Carolina. In this position, he managed and maintained the functionality of an instructional improvement platform that was enabled within 130 schools and supported 5,000 teachers and 74,000 students. Kelvin holds a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in technology education and a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Systems Technology, both from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He also loves to volunteer at various local food banks and spends his free time grilling with hopes of becoming a pitmaster.

Rikki Bardzik

Rikki has worked with Community College of Philadelphia since 2007 as a Program Coordinator of Continuing Education in Corporate Solutions, the Division of Workforce and Economic Innovation. As a program coordinator she works to expand and manage non-credit workforce development programs, advises students on program related questions, and coordinates the marketing and promotion activities for the department.  Previous experience includes work as the Marketing and Technology Associate at Norris Sales Company and as the Human Resource Development Specialist at Keystone Human Services Southeast. Rikki received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Temple University and a Master of Science in Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs from West Chester University. Hobbies include gardening, photography, traveling, and exercising.

Joseph Corso

Joseph joined the Admissions team here at the College in 2013 and serves as a liaison and primary contact for new and returning students.He works with students in the areas of outreach, enrollment, and the on-boarding processes.This can include navigating the steps to enrollment, fielding general and specific questions about the college, and planning and implementing program specific events on campus.Prior to moving to Philadelphia, Joseph worked for the Office of Admissions at Bard College at Simon’s Rock for over nine years in various roles.Joseph holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Master in Education from Northeastern University.In his spare time, he is an avid gamer and gadget geek.

Kevin Covington

Kevin Covington is a Support Coach with the Center for Male Engagement, a retention program for African American males at the Community College of Philadelphia. He has been with the program since its inception in the fall of 2009. In his role as a Support Coach he works with African American male students, of various backgrounds, who seek to obtain their Associate degree or program certification at Community College of Philadelphia. Kevin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Strayer University and a Master of Science in Management-Organizational Leadership from Wilmington University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Marketing degree at Wilmington University. His work with African American men and boys extends beyond the college. He has been appointed as the Chair of Mayor Jim Kenney’s Commission on African American Males and is a member of the Black Male Development Symposium’s Executive Board. In addition, he has served on former Mayor Nutter’s Youth Violence Prevention Collaborative.

Marilyn Del Valle-Santiago

Marilyn joined the College in 2013 and is the Coordinator, Records Evaluation, in the Office of Student Records and Registration. She oversees the graduation unit and veteran benefits. Prior to joining the College, she worked as an Assistant Registrar at PA Virtual Charter School and has 18 years of experience working in higher education. Marilyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Peirce College and a Master of Science in Higher Education with a concentration in Student Success from Walden University. She also is a freelance makeup-artist and hopes to one day volunteer her services at Fox Chase Cancer Center to help women in need.

Karen Dinan

Karen joined the College community in April of 2016 under the Division of Enrollment Services.  She works as an Administrative Support Specialist for the Administration office of the Northeast Regional Center.  In this position she is responsible for supporting the Center’s director and site coordinator in day to day operations while addressing the needs of faculty, staff and students. Karen also trains and manages work study students and provides support for the office’s part time staff. Karen holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Montgomery County Community College. Due to an inquisitive nature, she has also taken extensive coursework at the College, in addition to Temple University and Gwynedd Mercy University, which she is currently transferring to Thomas Edison State University to attain a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies. She hopes to continue on to pursue a Master’s in the Psychology of Leadership at Penn State. Her volunteering has included organizations such as the Association for the Blind, Shriner’s Hospital, Chamounix Equestrian Center and SPIN, but her heart always remains with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Tracy Hanton

Tracey joined the college in October of 2008 as the Coordinator of Career Planning with the job title changing to Career Services Specialist in 2011. In her role, she is responsible for assisting students with the development of professional documents and job skills so they are better prepared to meet with employers that visit campus as a part of the On Campus recruitment program that she manages. Her mantra for work is a hashtag that she usually opens up her presentations with: #ilovemyjob #ilovemycareer! She has participated in many committees at the college including the Women’s Leadership Conference. She is an active member of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers where she sits on the Conference; Grants and Research; and the Assessment and Outcomes committees. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Communications from Temple University and a Master of Arts in Professional and Business Communications from LaSalle University. She is the secretary for the C.A.L.M Society and she organizes a fundraiser for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition called the Breast Cancer Pink Tea that is held every April. In addition to her community service activities, she is a mother and an entrepreneur.

Michael Krasulski

Michael joined the College full-time in 2015 and is Assistant Professor and Department-Head Elect in the Library. Prior to joining the College, he was Associate Professor of Information at the University of the Science and Architecture and Design Librarian at Philadelphia University. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Wilkes University and a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Drexel University and a Master of Liberal Arts from Temple University. He is active in the various activities of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania and works tirelessly toward preserving the history of Philadelphia’s Episcopal congregations and their archives. Further he digitizes selected materials from these parishes and makes them freely available online. Some have described his project as saving church records from leaky church basements, one at a time.

Jocelyn Lewis

Jocelyn joined the College in 2013 and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Health. She teaches required courses in the Health Care Studies and Health Services Management programs. Prior to joining the College, she worked as a Regional Director of Rehab for Aegis Therapies and prior to that as a Therapy Program Manager for SunDance Rehabilitation Services.Jocelyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from The Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science in Health Sciences and Exercise Physiology and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University. She is an active member and volunteer at Bethany Baptist Church and has served as an elected member of her local school board.

Joseph Madanat

Joseph has been the Education Coordinator for the TRIO Upward Bound program at the College since September 2015. He has been a part of the Upward Bound program since October 2011 as a Tutor-Counselor, Instructor, and Part-Time Administrator. Joseph oversees the after school tutoring program as well as plans all college trips, volunteer activities, and cultural enrichment experiences. Additionally, he assists in facilitating Upward Bound's supplemental academic programming during the school year and the summer semester. Joseph has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Minor in Arabic from Temple University and a Master of Arts in Education plus Teaching Certification from Villanova University. In his spare time, Joseph likes to work on various craft projects, sing, swim, hike as much as possible, and take road trips to visit parts of the country he has yet to visit.

Peter Margolis

Peter joined the College in 2008 as Director of Online Learning. In that capacity, he is responsible for everything related to online and hybrid courses: managing the Canvas online learning system, training faculty to design, develop, and teach online, assuring course quality, and troubleshooting problems for students and faculty. Prior to joining the College he managed the hybrid course program at Camden County College. He received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Ancient History and Modern History, respectively, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, combined with a post-bachelor's certificate in Technical Communication and a post-master's certificate in Multimedia Instructional Design. Peter is fluent in English and reads French, and writes and lectures on Digital Religion in national and international venues.

Aubria Nance Phillips

Aubria joined the College in 2010 and is a faculty counselor in the Counseling Department. She helps students with academic issues, explore careers and manages personal concerns.  Aubria has served as the Department Head of Counseling and serves the college on numerous committees. Prior to joining the College, she worked as an Academic Counselor in Drexel's Act 101 program. Before entering the higher education field, Aubria built an extensive career as a mental health counselor for youth and families.  Aubria holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science from West Chester University and is completing her Doctorate in Education: Higher Education Leadership and Innovation at Wilmington University.  She is the mother of two amazing little girls. Aubria has been extremely involved in her community and currently, she is volunteering at the Franklin Institute, serving on the scholarship committee for her alumni association and is a parent board member for First State Montessori Academy in Delaware.

Johanna Noonan

Jo officially joined the College in 2015 as an Administrative Support Specialist in the Office of Academic and Student Success. She is responsible for special projects (research, presentations), events (such as the College's annual Academic Awards Ceremony), and coordinating with internal and external partners on major reform initiatives such as iPASS and Guided Pathways. Prior to her current role, Jo served as a Fellow (pro-bono) in the College's Fox Rothschild Center for Law and Society, and as a Senior Paralegal at Klasko Immigration Law Partners. Jo holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan, and an Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from Community College of Philadelphia. Jo enjoys yoga, reading, hiking the Wissahickon, and engaging in volunteer activities and projects that promote social justice.

Derrick Perkins

Derrick Perkins joined the College in 2012 as the Project Director of the nationally recognized Center for Male Engagement (CME) program. The CME is a program designed to increase the retention and graduation rates of African-American and other male students of color at the College through intentional, coordinated and culturally responsive programming. Before joining the Community College of Philadelphia, Derrick worked as a Program Manager in Office of Secondary School Reform at the School District of Philadelphia, Director of Provider Support at the Philadelphia Youth Network in Philadelphia, PA. and Academic Coordinator for the TRIO/Upward Bound program at Swarthmore College. Derrick earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA and received a Master’s Degree in Social Service with a concentration in Policy, Planning and Advocacy from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, PA. He is also a Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI) fellow from Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.

Jason Roscoe

Jason joined Community College of Philadelphia in May of 2016 serving as a full-time faculty Academic Advisor in the newly created Academic Advising Department. In January of 2017, Jason was nominated by his colleagues to serve as Department Head Academic Advising. Jason provides vision and oversight for academic advising processes and practices at the College, including but not limited to, development and execution of a holistic advising model.  Prior to joining the College, he worked as an Academic Advisor & Director of Minority Mentoring program at his alma mater Mansfield University. Jason obtained his bachelor and master degrees from Mansfield University where he was a three-sport athlete (basketball, football, and track). One of the areas of extreme interest to Jason is the retention and success of African American males in higher education. In his spare time, Jason enjoys spending time with family and close friends. He is also an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Lebron James fan.

Anna Seixas

Anna Seixas joined the Learning Lab department at Community College of Philadelphia 10 years ago. In Fall 2015 she was hired as an Assistant Professor and in Spring 2016 became the Chair of the Learning Lab/Student Academic Computer Center Department.  Anna earned a Bachelor of Art in Biology and Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from Rutgers University.  Prior to Community College of Philadelphia, she worked as a Chemistry instructor at Rutgers University in Camden.  Anna enjoys playing tennis in her spare time and spending time with her 2 dogs and 3 cats. She served as a Maid of Honor for the commissioning of the guided missile destroyer, the USS Wayne E. Meyer DDG108 which was named after her stepfather.

Emily Thomas

Emily joined the College in 2016 and is the Coordinator of Grants in the Office of Institutional Advancement. She facilitates the process of bringing public, private and corporate grant funds to the College for programs and projects across all departments. Prior to joining the College, she worked as the Development Coordinator for The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County, a non-profit environmental organization. Emily holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing from Pratt Institute. She also serves on the Board of the Newark Free Library in her hometown of Newark, DE, and has volunteered extensively with community organizations in both Delaware and Pennsylvania.

Kalika Colbert

Kalika originally joined the College in 2002, and relocated to San Francisco, CA. shortly thereafter in 2004. During her time in California, Kalika worked for a wealth management company as a Client Account Manager assisting in the financial stability of over 100 professional athletes. Upon her return to Pennsylvania in 2009, she rejoined the College’s Controller’s Office where she has held a variety of positions and currently serves as the Foundation Accountant. Her responsibilities have included the account reconciliations of the Pell State Grant, PHEAA State Grant, Federal Direct Loans, Foundation Scholarships, and analyzing student financial accounts. Kalika holds an A.A. in Social and Behavioral Science and a B.S. in Organizational Management. She is currently working towards her Post-Baccalaureate Accounting Proficiency Certificate at Community College of Philadelphia. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her husband and children and chaperoning school trips at her children’s school.  

Chelsea DiCarlo

Chelsea DiCarlo (née Pizzi) joined the College in December 2013 as the Coordinator of Student Life Marketing. In this role, she implements internal communication strategies for the College’s Student Affairs division, with a concentration in Student Life, where she promotes content that is valuable to our vibrant student population. Previously, Chelsea worked for four years as the public relations and social media specialist at Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing, New Jersey and as a broadcast journalist for WZBN TV-25 in Trenton, NJ. She has taught a variety of communication courses at Atlantic Cape Community College, Gloucester County College (now Rowan College of Gloucester County) and the Fox Business School at Temple University. Chelsea earned a M.S. in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and two B.A. degrees in English and Radio, Television and Film with a minor in Journalism from Rowan University. Chelsea lives in South Philadelphia with her husband, John, and their gold Shih Tzu, Sam. In her free time she enjoys visits to the beach, cooking, working out, organizing her house, planning trips, laughing with family and friends and watching funny dog videos.

Domenic DiClerico

Domenic, or Nick, joined the College in 2012in the position of Manager, Student Accounts.  In this role, he implements, oversees and monitors processes and procedures in compliance  with College policy and Title IV federal refunding regulations related to the billing of students, the College’s Tuition Payment Plan, credit balance refunds, grant requirements and the reconciliation of  multi-million dollar student financial aid programs.  He also serves as a consultant and contributor to business planning for the College. Nick earned a M.Ed. from Arcadia University, a M.B.A. in Management and a B.S. in Industrial Relations from St. Joseph’s University and a Graduate Certificate in Accounting from Temple University.  Nick participates in the Latino student mentoring pilot program, developing a relationship with a Latino student new to the College to ensure student success as well as to learn from each other and also serves as lector/reader and an usher at his parish church. 

Jack Drummond

Jack is currently an adjunct professor in the Behavioral Health/Human Services curriculum with a focus on Youth Work and also serves as an academic advisor.  Previously Jack worked in the College’s Center for Male Engagement as a support coach.  He earned B.S. degrees in Psychology, Education and Music as well as and M.Ed. in Education from Lincoln University.  Jack is currently working on an Ed.D. in Education Leadership & Policy at Temple University.

Lailah Dunbar-Keeys

Lailah possesses over twenty years of experience in higher education serving as an adjunct instructor, academic advisor and administrator. Currently, Lailah is an adjunct instructor of sociology at the College. Previously she also served as an adjunct instructor of African American Studies at Temple University. Lailah holds a B.A. in Communications with a minor in African American Studies and Sociology from Temple University, an M.S. and a M.Ed. from Cheney University. Lailah’s research, writing and teaching are focused on understanding and finding solutions for social injustice. In addition, she has created and facilitated various workshops that assist high school students with preparing for college and workshops that enhance students’ subsequent college experience.  In 2005, along with a group of distinguished colleagues, Lailah completed the editing of the African history portion of the African American Studies curriculum for the School District of Philadelphia. Formerly a journalist, Lailah developed and edited a weekly educational magazine for the Philadelphia Tribune newspaper that was dedicated to African American history and social issues. Lailah has served on several boards and supported various organizations in her community including the Columbia North YMCA, Community College of Philadelphia Northwest Regional Center Advisory Board, Mt. Airy Learning Tree and Philadelphia Futures.

Davido Dupree

Davido has been an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the College since Fall 2011 and an adjunct faculty member in the Applied Psychology and Human Development program in the Graduate School of Education of the University of Pennsylvania. As a member of the College’s Psychology faculty, he teaches Child Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Adolescent Psychology and Experimental Research Methods in Psychology. For the past two years, he has served as one of Psychology Education and Human Services’ Rep Council Representatives for the Full-Time Faculty Bargaining Unit. Davido is also an active researcher. His work includes basic research addressing the effects of such factors as exposure to violence and racial identity status on the cognitive functioning of African American adolescents as well as evaluations of interventions designed to address such social issues as community violence and disproportionate minority contact with the juvenile justice system. Davido earned his B.A. in Psychology from Hampton University and his Ph.D. in Cognition and Development from Emory University.

Petrina McFarlane

Petrina is a registered nurse and an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Community College of Philadelphia, a role she has held since 2010.  She is also the course coordinator for the first year nursing program. Petrina is a graduate of Community College of Philadelphia’s nursing program.  While a student at CCP she also took classes at Thomas Jefferson University. She graduated a year later with her B.S.N.  Petrina also holds a M.S. in Nursing and a post- Master’s in Nursing Education.   Petrina works part-time as a cardiology nurse at a 300-bed urban teaching hospital.  One of her passions is running. When she isn’t working at either job, she runs and enjoys races. Petrina is currently training for the NYC marathon in the fall. She has run four marathons and countless half marathons and 10ks.

Charletha Porter

Charletha currently serves the College as the Associate Director of Academic Records, a role she has held since 2010.  Charletha has worked in both the private and public sectors during her 20 years of experience in management. During this career, she has owned and operated a temporary employment agency, supervised hundreds of employees, consulted small businesses, and conducted organizational information sessions and trainings. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from LaSalle University, a M.B.A. from Eastern University. Charletha’s passion is working closely with people and businesses as a Professional Life Coach, providing guidance and accountability through individual and group sessions. 

Dustin Rodgers

Dustin joined the College in 2014 as an Admissions Recruiter.  In this role, he coordinates outreach activities to Philadelphia high schools, community agencies, external initiatives and other targeted markets.  These activities include conducting group presentations, campus tours and extensive follow-up with potential applicants as well as using data to increase enrollment outcomes.  Dustin earned a B.A. and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from the University of Florida.  He is a member of his local community development committee and services on the Safety and Green & Clean subcommittees and is also an activity member of Job Corps’ Community Relations Committee. 

Catherine Simon-Bump

Catherine, or Kate, has worked at the College for the past six years; for the past five years she has filled the role of Coordinator of the Northeast Regional Center (NERC). As coordinator, Kate assists the NERC Director with the day-to-day operations of the Regional Center. Other duties include, scheduling the placement tests at NERC, running the Special Events, monitoring the A/V equipment including the Avelin system, assisting the Faculty and assisting Students.  Kate graduated with a B.F.A. from Moore College of Art and Design and has continued to produce and show her work, which has been displayed in two art shows to date.

Jason Stein

Jason joined the College in 2012 as a consultant to build the College’s website and in 2013 started a full-time position as the Web Site Manager and Information Architect. In this role, he is tasked with development and maintenance of the College's websites and interactive marketing presence. Jason is a self-taught programmer who started working in 2000 producing marketing websites for pharmaceuticals products, banking, and television. In 2009 Jason established his own interactive consulting business where he continued to supply interactive marketing and campaign management for pharmaceutical brands, higher finance, and non-profits. He holds a B.F.A. from Rochester Institutes of Technology. Outside of the College, Jason still runs his consulting business and also holds officer positions for a local sportsman club and athletic association along with his home owner association. 

Charlene Z. Truex

Charlene Truex is an assistant professor in the Dental Studies department.  She became a member of the full-time faculty in 2009 after serving a few years as an adjunct faculty member.  In her current position, she is responsible for teaching Dental Studies’ didactic and clinical courses and is the First Year Dental Hygiene Manager.  She has been active on departmental and College committees and initiatives, including most recently the Middle States Monitoring Report Work Group. Prior to her position at the College, Charlene was Director of Clinic Support Services at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.  She received her Certificate of Dental Hygiene and B.S.  in Education from Temple University. Charlene obtained her M.S. in the Dynamics of Organization and M.Phil. in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.  She is a consultant for the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments and is a member of a number of professional organizations.

Ayanna Washington

Ayanna joined the College in 2014 as the Director of Business Development for Corporate Solutions. In this role, Ayanna is responsible for conducting training assessments with prospective clients in Philadelphia and the surrounding area and for selling the training programs that are offered through Corporate Solutions.  In addition, Ayanna is responsible for managing the WEDnetPA grant on behalf of the college and manages the Small Business Center at the Northeast Regional Center. Previously in her 14-year career in higher education, Ayanna served as Campus Director at Strayer University and was responsible for the successful start-up of eight campuses.  She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Temple University, a M.B.A. with a concentration in Global Management from University of Phoenix and a M.Ed. with a concentration in Educational Management from Strayer University.  Mrs. Washington currently serves as an Executive Board Member for OIC Philadelphia and was appointed the Committee Chair for the Professional Development Committee for the American Association of Women in Community Colleges, Philadelphia Chapter for 2015-2016.

Michelle Williams

Michelle has been employed at the College for ten years in a number of different programs, including The Philadelphia Tech Prep Consortium, Academic Assessment and Evaluation, and TAACCCT. Her current role is Manager of K-16 Partnerships, where she oversees the college's dual enrollment initiatives. Her philosophy is: “Meet students where they are while simultaneously expecting excellence.” To that end, she has been dedicated to student access and success and has always chosen positions that afforded her the opportunity to assist and support students, especially those who are academically at-risk and first generation, through their transitions to college and beyond. Michelle earned a B.A. and M.L.A. from Temple University and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from St. Joseph’s University, where she received the Rashford Award for Outstanding Dissertation.  In addition, she is an active member of the following professional organizations: the Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Educators (PADE), the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP), the American Association of University Women (AAUW), the American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC), and the International Mentoring Association (IMA).

Stephanie Zeppenfelt

Stephanie joined the College in 2014 as an Administrator of Financial Aid Systems in the Office of Financial Aid. In this role, she assists and counsels students through the Financial Aid process and administers various software for the Office of Financial Aid. Previously, she worked for the University of the Arts for five years as a Student Financial Services Assistant and Student Financial Services Counselor, managing over 900 student accounts. Before embarking on her career in higher education, Stephanie worked as a paralegal for a small law firm that specializes in franchise and business law, intellectual property, and litigation. Stephanie holds a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology and a M.Ed with a concentration in Higher Education Administration in 2013, both from Temple University.

Osvil Acosta-Morales

Osvil joined the College in 2009 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Philosophy and Religious Studies. He now serves as Department Head and teaches various courses in Philosophy, Humanities, and Religious Studies. He is currently ABD in Philosophy and holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, both from the University of Miami. Prior to joining the College, Osvil served as a Visiting Instructor at the University of Toledo and as an adjunct Instructor at Miami Dade College and Barry University.

Monique Black

Monique joined the College in 2008 and is an Enrollment Support Specialist in the Office of Student Records and Registration. She oversees student enrollment processes and troubleshoots for students having difficulties in such areas as registration, assessment, and financial aid. Prior to joining the College, she worked as a Graduate Admissions Counselor at Temple University and as a Coordinator for Registration Information and Data Management at Kingsborough Community College. Monique holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Temple University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership at Eastern University. She also volunteers as board secretary and minister at Balance Ministries International Prayer Center and serves as a resident supervisor for Cradle of Hope.

Rainah Chambliss

Rainah is an Office Administrative Associate in the College’s Corporate Solutions division. She holds an Associate in Arts in Business from Community College of Philadelphia and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication at Temple University. Rainah serves as a Chapter advisor for the College’s Alpha Beta Gamma International Business Honor Society. She was the 2011-2012 Eta Sigma Chapter president and the 2012-2013 national student president. Rainah is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Rho Upsilon Chapter along with Darnell Chambliss, her husband of 20 years.

Carlos Diaz

Carlos joined the College in 2013 as the Academic Advising Specialist. In his position, he develops and conducts training for new and current faculty advisors and manages the scheduling process for walk-in advising at the main campus and regional centers. Prior to joining the College, he worked as a Project and Communications Coordinator at Drexel University. Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Drexel University. He is the owner and director of Movado Dance and is fluent in Spanish and conversational Russian

Yvonne Ellis

Yvonne joined the College in 2007 and is an Office Administrative Associate for the College’s Center for Male Engagement where she provides front line support to prospective and current students. Prior to joining the College, Yvonne worked as a Database Creator (Consultant) for Life Science and in various administrative capacities at businesses such as Independence Blue Cross, Today’s Image, and Bank of America. She holds a Diploma in Networking from the Computer Learning Center and is currently pursuing an associate degree at Community College of Philadelphia. She is staff advisor for B.A.I.S. (Business Administration Interested Students) and vice president of the College’s Alpha Beta Gamma, Eta Sigma Chapter.

Wanda Gibson

Wanda joined the College in 2012 as a Job Developer in the College’s Corporate Solutions division. Her responsibilities include developing and implementing marketing strategies for Job Trak PA, a grant-funded program. She focuses on establishing relationships with potential employers within the community. Prior to joining the College, Wanda served as Director of Healthcare and Staffing at the Philadelphia Workforce Development Corporation. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Lincoln University and coursework in Gerontology, Medical Billing, Physical Therapy Aide and American Sign Language at Gloucester County Community College.

Anela Gjika

Anela joined the College in 2002 and currently serves in the position of Manager, Accounting – Financial Compliance and Fixed Assets. Her responsibilities include reporting and analysis of fixed asset maintenance, debt service, bond proceeds and leasing schedules as well as the financial compliance of grants. During her time with the College, she has served in multiple roles such as Coordinator, Grant Accounting, Grant Administrator and Student Accounting Generalist. Prior to joining the College, she worked in accounts payable at the Four Seasons Hotel. Anela holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Drexel University. She has completed accounting courses at Community College of Philadelphia as well as coursework at the University of Tirana Business School.

Lynsey Jae Grace

Lynsey joined the College in 2012 as Coordinator of Athletics. She is responsible for game management for all athletic events on campus and reviews current policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all NJCAA rules and regulations. Prior to joining the College, she served as Head Softball/Volleyball Coach at Lincoln University and Graduate Extern/Assistant Softball Coach at Temple University. In addition to her work at the College, Lynsey serves as an advisor at Cabrini College, an Advisory Board Member for Black Women’s Sports Foundation and a member of Women’s Coaches Academy. She holds a Masters of Education in Sport Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management, both from Temple University.

Jeffrey Haines

Jeffrey joined the College in 2011 as Coordinator, Financial Aid Services. In his role, he manages intake of students requiring financial counseling, oversees campus financial planning workshops and reviews financial aid applications. Prior to joining the College, he served as an Admission Advisor and Student Finance Consultant at DeVry University’s Center City Campus. Jeffrey holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Haverford College. In his free time, he plays guitar and enjoys homebrewing, as he is a member of the American Homebrewers Association.

Allan Kobernick

Allan has served close to 19 years with the College, beginning as Associate Professor in the Department of Photography, Film, and Television, where he also served as Department Chair. He left the College to serve as CEO and President of Blue Sky Productions where he handled clients such as GE Capital, Whole Foods Markets and Astra Zeneca. In 2008, Allan returned to the College as Acting Producer of CCPTV and currently holds the position of Director of Multimedia Services and Producer, CCPTV. His experience also includes adjunct faculty and visiting lecturer positions with the College. Allan holds an Ed.M. in Educational Media from Temple University and a Ph.B. in Philosophy & Arts from Monteith College, Wayne State University.

Maria Littles

Maria has nearly 30 years with the College since starting in 1984 as an Accounting Clerk C. Currently, she serves as Coordinator, Student Loan Programs. She coordinates, administers and executes the College’s student loan program, including debt management programming. Maria is an alumna of the College, holding an A.A. S. in Accounting, and she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Eastern College. Her volunteer activities include serving as the Atlantic City District Director of Christian Education for the First Episcopal District of the AME Church, and as President of the Chesilhurst School Board.

William (Billy) Love

Billy has over 20 years with the College and serves as Instructor of Criminal Justice. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Temple University. In addition to his work at the College, Billy also serves as the Chief Hearing Master for Philadelphia’s emergency domestic violence court. Prior to joining the College, he was operator of a general practice law firm with emphasis in criminal law and a Paralegal Instructor at the American Center for Technical Arts/Science.

Angela joined the College in 2008 and is a Graphic Designer in the College’s Division of Marketing & Government Relations. She develops and revises marketing materials to promote the College to campus and citywide audiences, as well as conceives and proposes marketing strategies for new campaigns. In addition to her role with the College, she serves in the community as Co-Chair, Program and Events for Friends of Vernon Park where she helps coordinate free events to engage Germantown neighbors and friends, especially children. Angela holds a Bachelor of Science from Philadelphia University and participated in International Study, Communication Design at Swinburne University in Melbourne, Australia.

Desiree Rivers

Desiree joined the College in 2006 as Office Administrative Associate for the Philadelphia Tech Prep Consortium and now serves as Office Administrative Associate in the Division of Adult and Community Education. She is a graduate of Community College of Philadelphia, holding an Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts. Prior to joining the College, she worked in administrative positions at Independence Blue Cross and the University of Pennsylvania. Desiree volunteers as a Youth Ministry Team Leader at Christ Temple Interdenominational Church and served as a mentor for Bridges to the Community.

LaVern B Allen

LaVern joined the College in 2003 as an Accounting Clerk and now serves as Accounting Generalist for the Controller’s Office. She is responsible for processing college-wide payment requests and student tuition payments; she works with the College’s Scholarship Manager to review students’ financial records, which is an integral part of the Scholarship program. LaVern is an alumna of the College, holding an A.A. in Business and an A.A.S. in Accounting and Finance as well as a Certificate in Management. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors in Accounting at Peirce College. LaVern’s volunteerism in the community includes serving as an Alpha Omega Drill Team Leader at Kingsessing Recreation Center and serving as a Trip Organizer for Harrington Public School’s American Coed Modeling Pageant.

Wanda Butler

Wanda has 30+ years with the College since starting in 1979 as a Receptionist/Office Clerk in the Office of Financial Aid. During her time with the College, she has served in multiple roles, including her position as Site Supervisor for the Northwest Regional Center for over 5 years. Currently, Wanda works at the Northwest Regional Center as a Resource Specialist managing the daily operations related to media for the College Library. Wanda is an alumna of the College, holding an A.A. in General Studies and an A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education. In addition, she is Founder of Trinity Twilight Care, an evening and weekend childcare facility. Wanda serves as a Sunday School Teacher for sixth graders at the Mount Airy Church of God in Christ and was a volunteer with St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children for their Mollycoddle program.

Patti Calandra

Patti joined the College in 2008 and serves as an Enrollment Support Coordinator/Specialist. She oversees student enrollment processes and functions such as attendance, curriculum and course changes, waivers, late registrations, contact information updates, “holds,” and review of Banner reports. Prior to joining the College, she worked as a Program Manager for the Center for Adult Literacy & Basic Education at Northampton Community College in Bartonsville, PA and as a Production Manager at United Steel Products in East Stroudsburg, PA. Patti holds a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from the University of Houston. She is a previous member of the Commission on Adult Basic Education. Currently, she serves as Treasurer for the Philadelphia Freedom Band Board and is an active member of their performance group.

Aimie M Contarino

Aimie joined the College in 2002 as a Tutor/Counselor with TRIO Upward Bound and has progressed within the department to serve as Education Coordinator. In her position, she coordinates and facilitates an academic and cultural enrichment program for 60 9th – 12th grade students from low-income households who will be the first in their families to earn a post-secondary degree. Prior to joining the College, Aimie served as an AmeriCorps Volunteer with City Year Philadelphia, leading over 250 5th – 8th graders in student-driven service projects. Aimie holds a Bachelor of Music from Temple University, Esther Boyer College of Music and is pursuing a Masters in Public Administration, Non-profit Management, at Villanova University.

Malissa Farrish

Malissa joined the College in 2008 as a temporary administrator and now serves as an Academic Advising Specialist. In her position, she develops assessment, evaluation and benchmarking strategies to rate and analyze the performance of Faculty Advisors. Prior to joining the College, Malissa worked as an Instructional Aide at Essex County Vocational High School and was a Senior Mentor for a Summer Career Exploration Program held in Camden, New Jersey. Malissa holds a Bachelors in Journalism from Rutgers University and a Masters in Science in Reading, Writing, and Literacy Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also licensed to teach in New Jersey in Grades K-5 and K-12 Reading.

Lynette S Luckers

Lynette joined the College in 2010 as an Assistant Professor/Counselor. She serves as an Instructor for the Freshman Orientation Seminar and provides personal and academic counseling for students in the College Achievement Partnership Program. Prior to her position with the College, she served as an Assistant Director in the Office of Diversity and Retention at Bloomsburg University and as a First Year Advisor in the Office of Residence Life and New Student Programs at Miami University. She has presented sessions on race relations, advising, team-building, and self-image. Lynette holds a Bachelor of Art in Social Work from Bloomsburg University and a Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in College Student Personnel; she is pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Administration and Leadership at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her community involvement includes being the Founder/CEO of Marion Luckers Kidney Foundation and leader of the Small Group Ministry at the Church of Christian Compassion.

Kate Martin

Kate joined the College in 2009 as an Enrollment Support Assistant. She provides technical support and guidance to registration staff, builds and maintains articulation tables in Banner, and completes transcript evaluations for students. Prior to her role with the College, she worked as a Data Conversion Specialist with Activant Solutions and was a Database Manager and Technical Trainer for Arcadia University. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Arcadia University.

Carol A Smith

Carol joined the College in 2008 as Director of the Gateway to College Program. She is responsible for managing the program, which serves high functioning dropout students by re-engaging them through intense academic support so they can earn high school credits via college-level courses. Prior to her position as Director, Carol served as an Instructor at Drexel University, the University of Pennsylvania and Community College of Philadelphia. Her professional experience also includes past positions as Chief Operating Officer with Big Sisters of Philadelphia, Inc. and Senior Associate Dean of Students at Drexel University. Carol earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Princeton University and a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting of Friends (Quakers) and previously served on the Board for the Community and Police Interracial Task Force.

Rasheed Williams

Rasheed joined the College in 2003 as an on-campus Security Officer/Shift Supervisor with Allied Security. In 2004, he accepted a full-time position with the College serving as a Security Specialist A. He supervises security staff, coordinates security personnel for campus events, ensures campus safety, and investigates injuries, theft and other campus incidents. Prior to joining the College, Rasheed was Owner/Operator of Philly Phruit/Sweet Spot and served as a Security Officer for Spectaguard, Inc. He has completed coursework at Penn State University and Temple University and is pursuing an Associate’s degree at the College.

Tamika Curry

Tamika joined the college in 2004 as an Adjunct Faculty member and Visiting Lecturer and now serves as Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department. In addition to her work at the college, she is a part time instructor with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions and has taught as an Adjunct Faculty member at Drexel University and Villanova University. Currently, she is a faculty expert on the Fostering Geriatrics in Pre-Licensure Nursing Education project, a partnership between the Community College of Philadelphia and the National League for Nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University. Tamika's community involvement includes service in the missionary ministry at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, as Parent Group officer at her daughter's school, and as an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

Joan Goffe

Joan has over 10 years with the College since starting in 1999 as Office Administrative Associate for the main campus Library. Currently, she works at the Northwest Regional Center providing overall administrative and secretarial support. She is an alumna of the College, holding four degrees: A.A.S. in Computer Information Systems - PC Applications Option and Business Programming Option, A.A.S. in Data Processing - Business Programming Option, A.S. in Computer Science. Joan has served as the Coordinator of the West Oak Lane Church of God's TLC (The Little Children) Newsletter, volunteered with the West Oak Lane Church of God VBS (Vocational Bible School) and currently serves in the West Oak Lane Church of God Technology Ministry. She is also a member of the AAWCC (American Association for Women in Community Colleges).

Aimee Hageadorn

Aimee joined the College in 2008 and serves as Student Life Programming Coordinator where she oversees the communication and marketing efforts for the Office of the Dean of Students. She also manages the Student Life Center website and student webmaster. Prior to joining the College, she worked as a Communications and Training Manager at Kansas State University and a Web Marketing Coordinator at Santa Clara University in California. Aimee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Santa Clara University, Leavey School of Business. She served as a CASE District I Conference Mentor and is Chair for the College's New Student Online Orientation Committee.

Kalala Kabongo-Mianda

Kalala joined the College in 1985 as an Adjunct Faculty member for the English Department, was a Teaching Center Staff Member from 1999-2002 and is now Assistant Professor of English and ESL. He has also taught at West Chester University, Immaculata University, the University of Pennsylvania, Arcadia University and Philadelphia University. Kalala currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Lisanga Ya Bana Kin Association and was President of the Board of Directors for the Congolese American Association of Pennsylvania from 2004-2006. He holds a Bachelor of Science in English-African Culture and Master of Science in English from the National University of Zaire, a Master of Science in TESOL and a Ph.D. in Educational Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Diane Kae

Diane joined the College in 2008 and is Manager of Student Outreach & Recruitment. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Office of Admissions' outreach, recruitment functions and staff. Before joining the College, Diane worked with The University of the Arts as their Director of Continuing Education (2003-2008) and Assistant Director of Admission (1991-2003). She currently serves on the Board of Governors for the South Jersey Ski Club and is President Elect for the 2011-2012 membership year. Since 1999, Diane has volunteered yearly for the Appel Farm Arts and Music Festival. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from Rowan University and a Master of Education in Psycho-Educational Processes/Adult and Organizational Development from Temple University.

Jeff joined the College in 2008 as Instructor in the English Department and teaches various English courses. Prior to joining the College, Jeff taught at Delaware County Community College, was a Book Editor at Little Acorn Press in West Chester, PA and a reporter for The Review in Newark, DE. He has published multiple scholarly, creative and journalistic publications, including articles for the Journal of American Culture and Delaware Today Magazine . Through his affiliation with Habitat for Humanity Global Village, Jeff has traveled to Kanyakumari, India and Lampang, Thailand. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from the University of Delaware and a Master of Arts in English Literature from West Chester University of Pennsylvania

Susan McAnany

Susan joined the College in 2008 and is HRIS Coordinator in the Human Resources Department. She assists with the processing of job assignments for all faculty, staff and student workers, and handles all phases of employee salary changes. Before joining the College, Susan worked with Cozen O'Connor as an HRIS & Reporting Analyst and IKON Office Solutions as an HR Administrator/Generalist. She has served as president, vice president and program director in the mid-Atlantic region for The International Association for Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM) and received the "Member of the Year" (2008) award for IHRIM Mid-Atlantic Region. Susan holds a Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Business Management and Human Resource Management from Neumann College.

Kathleen Murphey
Kathleen has more than 15 years experience with the College, beginning in 1992 as Instructor and as of 2002 as Assistant Professor for the English department. Prior to joining the College, Kathleen taught at Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia University, the University of Pennsylvania and West Chester University. She has multiple publications and has presented at numerous conferences. Her most recent presentation was "Navigating Change in College English" at the Two-Year College English Association/NTCE, Northeast Conference. Kathleen is a member of the Pennsylvania Historical Association and the Children's Literature Association. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, Master of Arts in American Civilization, Master of Science in Secondary English and Social Studies and a Ph.D. in American Civilization from the University of Pennsylvania.

Jason Popp

Jason joined the College in February 2010 as Research Assistant/Technical Specialist in the Office of Institutional Research. He manages data collection activities, analyzes data to create presentations and publications and drafts institutional reports. Before joining the College, Jason worked as an Institutional Research Analyst and Data Manager for Duke University and a Computer Support Specialist for Penn State University. In addition to his position with the College, Jason is also a Certified Home Stager and a Licensed Real Estate Broker. As part of his community service activities, he serves as a volunteer for the American Lung Association Asthma Walk, assisting with coordination of the event. Jason earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Lock Haven University and a M.Ed. in Higher Education from Penn State University.

Kristen Starr
Kristen joined the College in 2008 as Coordinator of Grants in the Office of Institutional Advancement. She identifies, writes, edits, and tracks grant proposals across all College areas and monitors grant-funded programs. Prior to joining the College, Kristen worked with Congreso de Latinos Unidos as a Grants Manager/Director of Development, Lycee Xavier Nessel in Haguenau, France and Transfer Idiomas in Madrid, Spain as an English Language Instructor and at Project H.O.M.E. as an Occupational Services Program Coordinator. She has served as a volunteer tax preparer for Campaign for Working Families and is a member of The Congreso Society. Kristen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History/French from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters of Public Administration from Rutgers University - Camden.

Lynne Sutherland

Lynne joined the College in 2001 and works as Project Director for the TRIO Upward Bound Program. She develops and directs all activities in this college-preparatory program for high school students who are low-income/potential first generation college students. Before joining the College, she worked as Coordinator for the Community Learning Center in the Albuquerque Public Schools in New Mexico, Consultant for the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC and Coordinator of Program Development and Assessment for Eckerd College. She is a member of the Mid-Eastern Association of Educational Opportunities Program Personnel. Lynne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Temple University and a Master of Art in Psychology and Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Michigan.

Tammy Wooten

Tammy joined the College in 2003 as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Chemistry Department. She became Assistant Professor in 2006 and teaches various Chemistry courses. Prior to joining the College, Tammy taught at Rosemont College and Lincoln University and served as a Grant Writer/Project Director for the City of Philadelphia/After School Initiative. She was also Assistant Principal at the Preparatory Charter School of Mathematics, Science, Technology & Careers. In addition to teaching, Tammy volunteers as the Director of Youth Ministries at Sanctuary Church of the Open Door in Philadelphia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Lincoln University and a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.

Stephanie Booker

Stephanie joined the College in 1998 and is currently an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the Enrollment Services Department. Prior to this position, Stephanie worked in the Division of Business and Technology as a test proctor for the College's ACT Center and assisted in conducting audits for renewal of grant funded programs. In addition to her position with the College, Stephanie is also self-employed as a Property Manager/Investor. She is a graduate of the College's Office Administration Program, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Eastern University and is pursuing a Master of Science in Non-Profit Management at Eastern.

Catrina Cameron

Catrina joined the College in 2006 and is an Office Administrative Associate for Student Records and Registration where she provides prospective and current students, as well as staff, with information and support regarding the registration process. Most recently, her responsibilities have shifted to focus on academic records. Prior to joining the College, Catrina worked as an Assistant Administrator/Benefit Processor with the Laborers' Industrial Pension Fund. She is a graduate of the College's Business program, holds a Bachelor of Science from Peirce College and is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Public Administration program at Strayer University.

Catherine Collins

Cathy has over 20 years experience at the College since starting in 1984 as a Clerical Specialist C for Records and Registration. Since then, she has worked in three divisions of the College and at the Northeast Regional Center. Currently, she is the Site Administrator for the Northwest Regional Center. Cathy serves as a Board Member for the K-12 African and African-American History Bee Competition and is Vice President of Administration for AAUW as of July 2009. In 2008, she chaperoned youth of the African Genesis Institute's DZERT CLUB on a trip to Africa. She holds an Associate degree in Computer Data Processing from Peirce College.

Lawrence DeAngelis

Larry has educated students at the College for over 30 years, since starting as an Instructor in 1978. He has served as a Visiting Lecturer and currently is an Adjunct Faculty member for the Marketing and Management Department. Larry teaches Business Law, Accounting and Management courses, has co-authored a text, and created a course entitled "Living Today," which involves a business education curriculum designed for high school. He earned Bachelor's degrees in History and Accounting and a Masters in Education from St. Joseph's University and a J.D., LL.M., and M.B.A. from Temple University.

Anne Dempster

Anne has over 20 years experience at the College since starting in 1988 as a Clerical Specialist C for the Information Center. Since then, she has worked as a Registration Specialist for Records and Registration and as an Office Associate for the Northeast Regional Center. Anne is currently the Site Administrator for the Northeast Regional Center where she assists in the planning, supervising and assessment of day-to-day operations. Anne is a Co-Chair for the Center's Advisory Board as well as the Safety and Emergency Procedures Committee. She is a graduate of the College and holds an Associate degree in General Studies.

Betty Jean Handy

Betty joined the College in 2008 and is currently an Academic Coordinator for the Gateway to College program where she provides academic, social, and emotional support to former high school dropouts seeking their diploma and college credits. Before joining the College, Betty worked with Communities In Schools of Philadelphia as their Site Administrator for the ELECT Program. She serves on two committees for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is an Advisory Board Member for Enon Tabernacle Group Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Temple University and a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Distance Learning from the University of Phoenix.

Colleen Kelly (Volmer)

Colleen joined the College in 2008 as a Staff Recruiting Specialist in the Human Resources Department. She serves as the main point of contact in HR for Classified, Confidential and Grade 1 and 2 Administrative searches during all phases of the recruitment and hiring process. Prior to joining the College, she served as Corporate Recruiter for Hotwire Communications, a privately held cable company, and as Recruiter for Kenexa, a leader in employment process outsourcing. Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science from Widener University.

Marianne Mielke

Marianne joined the College in 2003 as an Adjunct Faculty member in the English Department. She became full time in 2008 and teaches various English as a Second Language courses. Prior to joining the College, Marianne taught at Montgomery, Delaware and Bucks County Community Colleges. She has also taught overseas in Guilin, China and Taichung, Taiwan. Along with her extensive teaching experience, Marianne is proficient in two languages - French and Chinese. She has worked as a Market Assistant offering trade advice on the American market to French Canadian companies. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Arts from Ohio University.

Theresa Payne

Theresa joined the College in 1990, initially as a Secretary in the Adult Basic Education Department. Currently, she serves as Office Administrative Associate in the Division of Educational Support Services, where she assists the Dean and coordinates various aspects of the Dual Admissions Program. Prior to her current position, Theresa worked as a Clerical Specialist in the College's Academic Advising department. She has served on the College's Presidential Awards Committee and participated in the Philadelphia Reads program and Bring Your Daughters/Sons to Work Day. Cherise Shane

Cherise joined the College in 2001 as an Adjunct Faculty member in the English Department and was recently hired as a full-time Instructor. In addition to her work at the College, she is also an Educational Resource Consultant/Facilitator/Mentor for Penn Literacy Network (PLN) at the University of Pennsylvania and an Editor/Reader, Consultant and Tutor for C. Shane's Tutoring. Prior to joining the College, Cherise worked as a Library Technician and substitute Instructor at Howard University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in English Secondary Education from Millersville University, a Master of Arts in English from Howard University, and a Reading Specialist Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.

Anne Lucy Tinkcombe

Lucy joined the College in 2004 and serves as an Adjunct Faculty member in the English department. She has taught communication at Drexel University and has a communication coaching practice, ALT-Coaching. Prior to joining the College, Lucy worked as a Consultant for Pendle Hill and as a Consulting Editor for educational multimedia projects produced at Harvard University. She holds an A.B. in Medieval Studies from Mount Holyoke College, an M. Litt in Medieval French and Latin Literature from St. Andrews University, a Master of Arts in English Literature and a Ph.D. in American and Comparative Literature from Stanford University. Lucy speaks French, Italian, and German with various degrees of fluency.

Jalyn Warren

Jalyn has over 20 years experience at the College since starting as a Clerk Typist in the Educational Support Services Office. Since then, she has worked within the College's Math Department and Academic Affairs Office. She is currently an Assistant Professor, Electronic Resources/Web Librarian and the Department Head for the Library. In addition, Jalyn serves as a part time Reference Librarian for Burlington County Library and is a volunteer for the College's annual Foundation Golf Tournament. She is an alumna of the College's Data Processing and Paralegal Studies programs and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern College and Master of Science from Drexel University.

Nichole Webster

Nichole joined the College in 2003 as an Adjunct English Instructor and in 2008 was hired as a full time Instructor. In addition to teaching at the College, she serves as an Adjunct Education Professor at Cabrini College and as an Adjunct English Instructor-Reading at Harcum College. Prior to joining the College, Nichole held positions with the School District of Philadelphia and Community Education Partners. She holds a Bachelor's in English Liberal Arts from LaSalle University, a Masters of Education in Reading and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership (Principal) from Arcadia University

Louisa Wilson

Louisa joined the College in 2008 as Associate Director of the Annual Fund. She manages the College Foundation's Annual Fund program, which solicits financial support from faculty, staff, alumni and friends for student scholarships and the advancement of the College. Prior to joining the College, she worked at Project Open Hand, a nutrition services nonprofit in San Francisco, the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York City, and the PA Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Louisa volunteers with Women's Way and with the Mary Ryan Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University and a Master of Arts from Fordham University.

Kathryn Birster

Kathryn joined the College in 2006 and is currently an Academic Coordinator for the Gateway to College program where she provides academic, social, and emotional support to former high school dropouts seeking their diploma and college credits. Before joining the College, Kathryn worked as an Intake Counselor for United Behavioral Health in Philadelphia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of New Jersey and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Kathryn also holds a Secondary School Counseling Certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Vanessa Brown

Vanessa joined the College in 2007 and is an Executive Assistant/Technical Craft Specialist in the Office of Academic Affairs. Prior to this position, Vanessa worked in the Division of Enrollment Services where she provided direct support to the Dean and oversaw the day to day office operation. Prior to joining the College, Vanessa was employed with Peirce College working in similar a capacity. Over the years, she has been involved in a number of local and state agencies affiliated with higher education institutions. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Peirce College where she graduated as valedictorian of her class in 2003.

Jacqueline Butler

Jackie has a long history with the College having joined CCP as an Accounting Clerk in 1990. She is currently a Records and Systems Administrator where she is responsible for training office staff, implementing and monitoring new registration systems, and monitoring the daily operational detail for corporate credit and non-credit programs. Jackie obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Science in both Finance and Accounting from the Community College of Philadelphia.

Charis Felton

One of the newest members to the Community College of Philadelphia family, Charis is an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Athletics. Charis' interest in pursuing the Leadership Institute stems from his desire to gain knowledge about what it takes to be an effective leader. Prior to joining the College, Charis was involved with a number of service programs where he served in a leadership position including both a Sunday School Co-Leader as well as an Activity Director for a Youth Program. He also interned with the Sixers and the Flyers in their Sales and Marketing Departments. Charis holds a degree from Liberty University.

Henrietta Hadley

Henrietta joined the College in 2004 and is the Program Director for the New Choices/New Options Career Development Program where she is responsible for the overall management of the program and staff development. Prior to joining the College, Henrietta worked with a number of programs geared toward workforce and career training. Henrietta has a number of professional affiliations including serving on the Steering Committee for the Governor's Conference for Women in 2008 and coordinating the First Annual Teen Parent Conference and Symposium. She received her Bachelor Degree in Applied Sciences from Western Michigan University.

Sarah Iepson

Sarah is an Assistant Professor of Art History whose area of focus is 19th Century American Art. In addition to her passion for teaching, she has served the College through her participation on the Early Success Task Force and the Faculty Council on Education. She has also participated in the College's international initiatives, traveling to both Merida and Istanbul. Sarah received her B.A. in Art History from Wayne State University and her M.A. in Art History from Temple University where she is currently working on her doctorate. In addition to her academic achievements, Sarah is an accomplished athlete who competes competitively as a cyclist and a triathlete.

Maryann Lyons

Maryann brings over twenty five years of experience in information systems to her current job as Master Scheduler in the Academic Affairs Office. In her work at the College, she has demonstrated the ability to maintain collaborative efforts among various departments and has been instrumental in the College's transition from the Legacy to Banner computer system. Outside of the College, Maryann is a supporter of Project Home and other community programs. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Penn State University and completed a Masters in Information Science at Penn State University Graduate Center.

Gina MacKenzie

Gina is an Assistant Professor in the English Department. She holds a Ph.D. in English and a Master's Degree in Creative Writing from Temple University. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she also currently serves as Placement Coordinator for the English Department and Curriculum Coordinator for the Gateway to College Program. Prior to joining the College, Gina taught at several area colleges and continues as drama director at St. Hubert's. Her book, The Theatre of the Real: Yeats, Becket and Sondheim from Ohio State University Press will be published in autumn 2008.

Girija Nagaswami

Girija is an Associate Professor in the Department of English. At the College she has demonstrated her commitment to continuously improve the ESL program. She was part of a team that initiated a hybrid ESL course - the first of its kind in Philadelphia. She has served on many curricular committees and as Assistant Department Chairperson. Girija earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Madras and holds two Master's degrees, Master's of English Literature from University of Madras and Master's of English Language Teaching from the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages in Hyderabad

Leanna Phan

Leanna joined the college in 2004 as a Technologies Assistant in the Financial Aid Office. She brought her years of experience from Financial Aid to her work as a systems analyst in Information Technology Services while assisting in the upgrade to Banner. She has since returned to Financial Aid as a Systems Administrator. Leanna has a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Central Connecticut State University and continues to enroll in college courses. She is fluent in Vietnamese and English

Bhavesh Bambhrolia

Bhavesh is currently a Technology Coordinator in the Division of Enrollment Services. He joined the College in 2004 and has worked on numerous projects relating to Banner system testing, implementation, and upgrading. He has successfully automated several processes in his division, resulting in improved operations. He is also an adjunct professor at Mercer County Community College, teaching international business. Prior to joining the College, Bhavesh worked as an IT consultant and web production manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from the University of New Haven.

Samuel Coleman IV

Samuel joined the College in 2003 as the TRiO Student Support Services Academic Coordinator. He is responsible for coordinating activities for students including workshops, cultural experiences, and academic, career, and transfer counseling sessions. Samuel previously worked as a TRiO specialist and adjunct professor at Harcum College as well as a GEAR-UP Coordinator for the Philadelphia Education Fund. Samuel received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Tuskegee University and his Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.

Sandra Gonzalez-Torres

Sandra joined the College in 2005 as the Associate Director for Act Now/Act 101. She is responsible for supervising the state grant-funded program which serves more than 750 students each year. Sandra is an advisor to the Latin American Student organization (LASO) and previously served as the chair for the Hispanic Heritage Month Planning Committee. Prior to joining the College, Sandra served as an academic advisor at Temple and an admissions counselor at the University of Iowa. Sandra earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Truman State University and her Master of Arts in Counselor Education from the University of Iowa.

Lisa Handler

Lisa joined the College in 2004 as an assistant professor in the Department of Social Science. She currently serves on the Student Appeals Committee and is an editorial board member for the CAP Literary Magazine. She also has extensive volunteer experience, including serving as a certified trainer for an anti-bias and diversity education program. Prior to joining the College, Lisa taught sociology at Temple, Hofstra, and State University of New York at Stony Brook. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Vermont, and her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Sociology from SUNY-Stony Brook.

Carol Jewett

Since 2003, Carol has served as the College's Northeast Regional Center Librarian. Her responsibilities include providing instruction and reference services to students, faculty, and staff. She joined the College in 1999 as a part-time librarian and in 2002 became a reference librarian and visiting lecturer. Carol serves on several College committees, including the International Festival Committee and the Student Affairs Committee. Carol previously worked at the Free Library of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia School District. She earned her Bachelor of Music at Temple and her Master of Library Science at Drexel.

Sarwee Nyankun

Sarwee is an administrator in the Office of Financial Aid. In addition to his work on Main Campus, he led an initiative at the Northeast Regional campus to educate counselors and administrators about general financial aid policies and forms. He was awarded the 2006 Presidential Award for Distinguished Service for an Administrator and was selected to serve on the 2007 Presidential Award Committee. Sarwee holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Liberia and a Master's in Public Administration from American University in Cairo

Jennifer Sheppard

Jennifer is currently the Acting Coordinator of Grants in the office of Institutional Advancement. Before joining Community College of Philadelphia she directed the Cumberland County Literacy Institute at Cumberland County College where she was highly effective in recruiting and retaining volunteer tutors to serve the adult literacy students in the community. She has a Bachelor's in film and video production from Drexel University and earned a Master in Liberal Studies degree from Villanova University.

Tanya Stewart-Austin

Tanya has been employed at the College as the Budget and Financial Analyst in the office of Finance and Planning for over seven years. She was instrumental in the implementation of the Banner System and continues to serve as a trainer for the Banner Finance Module. In the community, she serves as a Trustee Aide for Second Antioch Baptist Church. She is a graduate of Community College of Philadelphia and also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Faith Watson

Faith is an instructor in the English Department. Prior to joining the College Faculty, she was active as an adjunct at Drexel University, The `Curtis Institute of Music and the University of the Arts. Faith has an interest in Asian literature and culture. In addition to presenting and publishing papers at conferences across the country, she traveled in 2006 with the Fulbright-Hayes Group Projects Abroad Program to Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and in 2004 traveled to China to participate in an Institute on Teaching about China and the United States. Faith is also a published poet and an accomplished cellist. She has a Master's and Bachelor's from the University of Pennsylvania.

Aerie Webb

Aerie is an Assistant Professor of English. Before joining the College, she gained extensive teaching experience at State University of New York, Stony Brook as well as at area colleges in and around Philadelphia, including Gywnedd Mercy, Peirce, Glassboro, University of the Arts and Temple University. In 2006, she was a Facilitator and Participant in the Online Scenarios courses. She holds a Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, a Master's and a Bachelor's from Temple University.

Kimberly Benns

Kimberly is the Assistant Director of Financial Aid/Customer Service Assurance in the Division of Student Affairs. She has worked extensively on various College committees, including Scholarship, Communications, Student Website/Portal, and Orientation. She implemented the first Financial Aid Fair to be held at CCP. Prior to coming to the College in 2004, Ms. Benns was a Provider Manager at Philadelphia Child Care Resources. She has also been an Administrative Assistant in the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at the Temple University School of Law. She has teaching experience, and has also done editing and freelance writing. Ms. Benns has the B.A. degree in Communications, as well as a Master's degree in African American Studies, both from Temple University. She is Assistant Director of the Video Ministry and the "Climbing Higher" broadcast at Bethel Deliverance Church.

Lyn Buchheit

Lyn is Assistant Professor in the English Department, where she teaches all levels of ESL as well as English 101 and developmental reading/writing courses. She has both served on and co-chaired the English department Hiring Committee. At Community College of Philadelphia, she has worked on curriculum development in the Writing Program, and participated in the Title VI Middle East Grant. She also served on the Middle States Accreditation Standard 7 Committee: Institutional Assessment. Ms. Buchheit is a Summer Lecturer in the English Language Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She has taught in Japan, China and Korea. Ms. Buchheit holds the B.A. in Linguistics from Temple University, and the M.S. TESOL. from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a USTA Tennis Team player.

Michele Claybrook-Lucas

Michele Claybrook-Lucas is Director, Contract Training and Workforce Development in the Center for Business and Industry. Prior to coming to Community College of Philadelphia, she was a Human Resource Consultant in the Office of Business Development at Delaware County Community College. Ms. Claybrook-Lucas was responsible for managing a diverse group of Defined Contribution Plans at The Vanguard Group. She has the B.A in Economics and the M.S. in Organizational Dynamics, both from the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Claybrook-Lucas is a published author. She is active in the Parent Teacher Organization at the Wallingford Elementary School, and serves on the Board of Trustees at The Center Foundation, where she also acts as a mentor.

Bianca Cummings

Bianca Cummings is an Assistant to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement. She entered Community College of Philadelphia as a recipient of the Robert S. King scholarship; as a student at the College, she worked in the Office of the Dean of Student Systems and the Office of the Director of Financial Aid. Prior to her work at CCP, she was a Promotions Business Trainee at SmithKline Beecham. Ms. Cummings served as the Student Representative on the Search Committee for Associate Director of Enrollment Systems Technology. She has participated in both the SCT Banner and OASIS projects. Ms. Cummings has the A.A.S. degree in Computer Information Systems - Web Development from Community College of Philadelphia and is pursuing the Bachelor's degree at Temple University.

Josephine DiGregorio

Josephine DiGregorio is Assistant to the President of the College. She manages the President's Office and serves as liaison between the Office of the President and constituencies including Board members, faculty, staff, City, State and national representatives. She supervises the staff of the President's Office, manages special projects, and coordinates meetings and events for the president and Board of Trustees. She was the Chair of the 40th Anniversary History of the College Exhibit, and has served on the OASIS Project Executive Committee and the Presidential Search and Screening Committee. Prior to coming to the College, Ms. DiGregorio worked for the president of the Hotel and Restaurant Union, local 274. She is a graduate of Community College of Philadelphia, with the Associate in Arts degree and is pursuing coursework towards her bachelor's degree at Rosemont College. She is a fitness activist who has coordinated fundraising activities for Strides Against Breast Cancer, The Lupus Foundation, The March of Dimes, and Walk Against Hunger.

Theresa Naana

Theresa Naana is Office Administrative Associate in the Controller's Office, where she helps coordinate the activities of the large multi-function Controller's staff. She has served on a multitude of College committees, including the 2004-2008 Strategic Planning Committee, the Presidential Awards, Employees Awards, Institutional Staff Development and Golf Tournament committees, as well as various Administrative Search Committees. She is the Banner Functional Security Representative for Banner Finance-Grants. Prior to coming to Community College of Philadelphia, Ms. Naana worked at the Provident National Bank. She has the A.G.S. degree in General Studies from Community College of Philadelphia. She has volunteered with the Uptown String Band, coordinating fundraisers and special events, as well as facilitating last minute preparations for the band's participation in the Mummers' Parade.

Lucila Paramo

Lucila Paramo is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Chemistry. She has also served as the Assistant Director of ESL Programs in the former Community Services Division. She has been a Mentor for the EMC2-Engineering Science Program, and a Special Science Tutor in the Learning Lab. Prior to coming to the College, Ms. Paramo taught environmental biology at LaSalle University; she was Manager of the Community Learning Center at Congreso de Latinos Unidos, and a GED Instructor at The Light House. Ms. Paramo is a published author. She received the Jane Abrams Award for Community Service. Ms. Paramo has the B.S. degree in Biology-Chemistry from the Universidad Del Valle, Cali, Columbia, and the Masters degree in Bilingual-Bicultural Studies from LaSalle University; she is a PhD candidate in Education Administration at the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico.

Melissa St Pierre

Melissa St. Pierre is a Visiting Lecturer in the Counseling Department, where she serves as counselor for the Act Now/Act 101 program. She participates in various departmental activities, including the Retention Intervention Planning and Academic Policies Review committees. Prior to coming to Community College of Philadelphia, Ms. St. Pierre was a Professional Academic Advisor at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. She has also been an Academic Advisor and Career Counselor, Senior Community Support Specialist, as well as an adjunct faculty member at the State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri. Ms. St. Pierre has the B.S. degree in Rehabilitative Psychology and the M.S. degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, both from Central Missouri State University.

Diane Brisbon

Diane Brisbon is a visiting lecturer in the Counseling Department. As an adjunct faculty member she has taught the Freshman Orientation Seminar. She is also a behavior specialist consultant/program supervisor for the Children's Outreach Services Program in Philadelphia. Ms. Brisbon has been an associate psychologist for the Child Guidance Center of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a substitute teacher for the School District of Philadelphia. She has a strong record of service at the College, including participation in the Ladies of Learning Educational Mentoring Program, the Retention and Persistence Work Group and the Women's Center Advisory Board. She received her B.S. in Textile Design from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science and earned an M.Ed. in counseling from Temple University.

Marianna Chiaravalloti

Marianna Chiaravalloti is an office administrative assistant in the Office of Student Records and Registration. She was previously an office assistant in the Office of the Dean of Student Systems. Prior to joining the College staff, Ms. Chiaravalloti was a data entry clerk at the Temple-Balch Center and a Claims Support Processor for Aetna Insurance Company in Philadelphia. As an undergraduate at the College, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, and served as a student ambassador. Ms. Chiaravalloti has been a College Employee of the Month, and her service to the College has included participation in Take Your Daughters to Work Day and Freshman Orientation. She is a Community College of Philadelphia graduate with an A.A.S. degree in Management and Marketing.

Maria Diaz-Aparicio

Maria Diaz-Aparicio is the assistant director for Adult Education, English as a Second Language Program. She has been an adjunct instructor in Adult Education at the College for a number of years. She has served as program director for the Drug and Alcohol Program, the Family Preservation and Reunification Program, and La CASA Project, all under the umbrella of the Asociacion De Puertorriqueños En Marcha, Inc. in Philadelphia. She has also been a senior marketing representative for the Mercy Health Plan of Camden, New Jersey and a social insurance claims representative for the Social Security Administration. Ms. Diaz-Aparicio holds B.A., M.A. and J.D. degrees, all from the University of Puerto Rico.

Kathryn Duffy

Kathryn Duffy is a disability resource specialist in the Center on Disability. She is also an Assistant Technology Specialist/Independent Contractor for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in Philadelphia. Previously, she was a clinical case manager and brain injury therapist at Moss Rehabilitation Hospital. Ms. Duffy has substantial teaching and tutoring experience, most recently as a Visiting Lecturer in English at Pennsylvania State University and a Learning Lab Instructor for developmental English courses at Community College of Philadelphia. She has also taught computer multimedia at American University and English at Manor College. Ms. Duffy has served on the Banner Academic Affairs Implementation Team at Community College of Philadelphia and on a recent hiring committee. She has also been a member of the Advisory Board for Transition Services for Young Adults at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Ms. Duffy has a B.A. in English/Communication from La Salle University and has studied film and video production at American University. She has an M.S.W. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. in Education from La Salle University.

Gilberto Gonzalez

Gilberto Gonzalez is a senior graphic designer in the Office of Communications and Government Relations. Prior to taking this position, he served as the graphic design director for Taller Puertorriqueño, where he established a graphic design training center to prepare youth for careers in graphic design. He has worked extensively as a freelance designer and was a part-time graphic design/photographic assistant in the Audio-Visual Department at the College. Mr. Gonzalez has had frequent exhibitions of his work and has received numerous awards for his community service as well as art and design. He has been featured in videos for ABC and WHYY TV. His record of community involvement includes teaching, workshops and lectures. He recently co-founded a new organization, La Colectiva, with the goal of further advancing the arts in the Latino community. His record of service at the College includes participation on the President's Diversity Council and advising the Latin American Student Organization. He received an A.S. degree from Community College of Philadelphia and a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts.

Lori Johnson

Lori Johnson is an instructional aid and adjunct faculty member in the Automotive Technology program. Prior to coming to the College, she was a technical support specialist and salesperson for Child Management Software at SofterWare, and she has been an automotive information specialist and automotive editor for Chilton Publications/SPX Information Services. She has also prepared test preparation guides for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. She was a new car service manager for a Honda dealership and has experience as an automotive technician. Ms. Johnson holds professional licenses and certifications in a number of areas including Air Conditioning Refrigerant, Pennsylvania Emissions Inspection and Pennsylvania Safety Inspection. She is a qualified Motorcycle Safety Instructor. Ms. Johnson has a strong record of service to the College and the community. Among other activities, she has served on two Hiring Committees at the College and currently serves on the Teaching Center Advisory Board. Her Professional Development Week program "Ladies Start Your Engines" has been well-received. Ms. Johnson earned a certification in Automotive Technology from Pennco Tech and in Client Server Technology from Penn State University. She received an A.A.S. degree in Automotive Technology from Community College of Philadelphia and is currently pursuing a B.A. in Women's Studies at Temple University.

Christina Knox

Christina Knox is an administrative assistant in the Office of Records and Registration. Previously, she was an executive secretary at Jalords, Inc. and worked in retail management for the York Plus Clothing Chain where she was a manager in the Human Resources Dept. and had responsibility for employee training. She is active in her church as a youth pastor and has served as a volunteer at Graduate Hospital and Mercy Hospital. She attends the Community College of Philadelphia and holds a diploma and teaching certificate from the Main Bible College.

Wayne Morris

Wayne Morris is an assistant director in the Financial Aid Office. Prior to joining the College community, Mr. Morris acquired extensive experience in financial aid administration, having served as Director of Financial Aid at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Berean Institute. In addition, he has held positions as Associate Director of Financial Aid at MCP Hahnemann and Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Drexel University. Mr. Morris has a strong record of service to the community. He is very active in his church, where his responsibilities include coordinating youth activities, and in the Masons, where he has held various leadership positions. He is a member of the African American Book Club Organizing Team here at the College. Mr. Morris has been listed in Who's Who in Professional Organizations and Who's Who in American Colleges. Mr. Morris studied Music Education at Temple University. He obtained a B.A. in Music and an M.S. in Arts Administration, both from Drexel University.

Michael E Remshard

Michael E. Remshard is an assistant professor in the Counseling Department. Prior to joining the College faculty, Mr. Remshard was the director of training for the eastern region for Northwestern Human Services, in Philadelphia. He has served as director of Counseling, Health and Wellness Services at William Paterson University and as state training coordinator and senior staff psychologist for the Wichita State University Counseling and Testing Center and the State of Kansas Department of Health and Human Services. He has been a trauma counselor and program assistant for Temple University's Student Counseling Services, Sexual Assault Counseling and Education Program. Mr. Remshard has substantial teaching and research experience. He has established a strong record of community service and service to the College, including membership on the Goal Achievement Program Team at NERC and chairmanship of the Crisis Management Committee in the Counseling Department. Mr. Remshard obtained a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Scranton and an M.E. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Temple University

Bridget Scott

Bridget Scott is office administrative associate to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Prior to joining the College family, she was the secretary to the Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. She has also worked as an administrative assistant for the Institute for Scientific Information and the Naval Ship Systems Engineering Station, both in Philadelphia. Ms. Scott has been involved in numerous activities here at the College, including the Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day Committee, the Student Affairs Potluck Committee, and the Presidential Awards Committee. She has also served as a board member for The Center for Economics and Law Charter School. She has pursued continuing education and professional development opportunities, including the Temple University Pan-African Studies Community Education Program and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Staff Development Training Program. Ms. Scott obtained an A.A. degree from Community College of Philadelphia and has a Computer Operations Certification from the Computer Learning Center.

Brian Seymour

Brian Seymour is an instructor in the Art Department. Prior to accepting this position at the College, Mr. Seymour had gained extensive teaching experience as an adjunct faculty member in Art History at several area colleges, including Temple University, Arcadia University, Rosemont College, and Drexel University. Mr. Seymour has been a regional administrator for Christie's International, Inc. and a gallery assistant at Freeman Fine Arts in Philadelphia. He is currently serving as a union representative for the Art Department and as Image Center coordinator, also for the Art Department. Among other activities, he participated in the recent NEH Grant at the College on Intercultural Assimilation and the Creation of China and he is currently studying Chinese. Mr. Seymour received his B.A. in Business Administration from Villanova University and an M.A. in Art History from Temple University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Temple University.

Matthew Shupp

Matthew Shupp is the assistant director of Student Life for Student Programming. Prior to coming to work at the College, Mr. Shupp was coordinator of Student Life and an academic advisor for the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia. He has also been a guest lecturer for First Year Seminar Classes at the Restaurant School and a Residence Director at Shippensburg University. Mr. Shupp is a veteran of the Up With People program, which involved extensive international travel and community service. He has done several presentations including "Service Learning as a Graduation Requirement!?! You're Joking, Right?" at the Community College of Philadelphia's First Annual Best Practices in Higher Education Conference. His publications include "The Business of Learning at Vocational and Technical Schools" and "Being a Resident Assistant: What's Your Motivation?" Mr. Shupp received a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Counseling from Shippensburg University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education at Widener University.

Julie Simmons

Julie Simmons is the coordinator for Oasis Training. She was previously the secretary to the Executive Assistant to the President for Human Resources and Labor Relations. She began her work at the College as a personnel assistant in Human Resources. Prior to coming to the College, she was a secretary at the Donnelley Directory in Philadelphia. Ms. Simmons has a strong record of service to the College. She has chaired two hiring committees for the College and served on the President's Diversity Council. She has presented a workshop for Take Our Daughters to Work Day and been member, co-chair, and administrative advisor to the Classified and Confidential Awards Committee. She has presented at national conferences in the areas of diversity and human resources. Ms. Simmons has been Community College of Philadelphia Employee of the Month and was the 2002 recipient of the Presidential Award for Distinguished Service for a Classified/Confidential Employee. She has an A.A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from the Community College of Philadelphia.

Denise Solomon

Denise Solomon is a senior office administrative associate in the Office of Institutional Advancement. Her previous positions at the College include secretary to the Director of Budgets and Financial Services and secretary to the Director of Purchasing and Services. Prior to joining the College staff, she was the office manager and assistant to the President at Robert D. Eckhouse and Associates in New York City. Ms. Solomon has a strong record of service at the College. She has served on the President's Diversity Council and the Strategic Planning Steering Committee (2000-2001) as well as the Presidential Award Committee for Distinguished Service for a Classified/Confidential Employee (2005). She has also participated in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Student Orientation Day. She was a recipient of the Employee of the Year Award for 2003-04 and the Employee of the Month Award for February 2004. Ms. Solomon is a graduate of Bernard M. Baruch College where she received a B.S. in Business Education.

Dena Sukol

Dena Sukol is a visiting lecturer in the Paralegal Studies Program and runs her own law office. Prior to opening her own firm, she was an associate attorney in the firm of Margolis, Edelstein and Scherlis and held a judicial clerkship in the Office of Judge Lisa A. Richette. She has taught writing at the University of the Arts and paralegal studies at the Careers Institute and Pierce College. Ms. Sukol has a strong record of service to the College. In addition to serving on the planning committee and coordinating the Art & Law Seminar for Law and Society Week, she initiated a Legal Outlining Seminar series for students and has been a faculty co-advisor for the Paralegal Student Association. In addition, she has assisted in recruiting small businesses to participate in the One Book at a Time program, the College's emergency book fund. Her extensive volunteer work includes providing legal advice to the homeless at Wells Robertson House, to artists through the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and to community organizations through the Volunteer Action Council Skillsbank of United Way. Ms. Sukol has a B.A. in Sociology and Economics and a J.D., both from Temple University.

Carmen Austin

Carmen Austin is an Assistant Loan Coordinator in the Office of Financial Aid and is also the founder of a non-profit organization called Working for Christ. She has attended Community College of Philadelphia, the American Institute of Banking, and the Computer Learning Center. Prior to coming to work at the College in 1997 as an Accounting Clerk/Cashier, Ms. Austin held several positions at Mellon P.S.F.S., most recently as a fraud analyst. She looks forward to pursuing a B.S. in Organizational Management at Eastern University.

Jason Cohen

Jason Cohen is the Senior Director for the Division of Business and Technology. He has a B.A. from Wesleyan University in American Studies with concentrations in Literature and Education and has done graduate work at Temple University. Mr. Cohen's previous positions include President and Chief Operating Officer of Earthmed.com, Inc.; Executive Vice President for Sylvan Home Improvement Centers; and National Sales Manager for Noteworks, Inc.

Constance Dauval

Constance Dauval is a Technical Specialist in Audio Visual Services and an adjunct instructor in the Mathematics Department and the Education Program. Ms. Dauval graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, and has a Master of Technology in Education degree from Rosemont College. She has also worked as a freelance videographer. Ms. Dauval has a strong record of service to the community, including serving as editor and designer of a parent/teacher newsletter, as assistant coach for a five-year-old girls' soccer team and as a homeroom parent.

Samantha Drake

Samantha Drake is the Coordinator of Grants in the Office of Institutional Advancement. She earned a B.A. in English and History from Albright College and spent a year studying in England at the University of London, Queen Mary College. She is currently pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Drake has extensive journalism experience, having served as a writer and editor for several publications. She has done volunteer work for the Philadelphia chapter of the Red Cross.

Judy Guy

Judy Guy is an Assistant Director for Records and Registration. Ms. Guy attended the Community College of Philadelphia where she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She has a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Philadelphia University and an M.S. in Human Resources Management from Wilmington College. Ms. Guy held several executive secretarial positions at the College before joining the Office of Student Records and Registration as a supervisor in 1996. She is a member of the Community College of Philadelphia Alumni Association.

Ardencie Hall-Karambe

Ardencie Hall-Karambe is an Assistant Professor of English and Theater. Dr. Hall- Karambe has a B.F.A. and an M.A. in Theater Arts from Southwest Texas University. She received her Ph. D. in Performance Studies from New York University. Prior to joining the College faculty, Dr. Hall-Karambe taught music and drama in a variety of settings. In addition to her numerous acting credits, Dr. Hall-Karambe has directed 40 productions, most recently A Raisin in the Sun in spring, 2004. She has served as Festival Coordinator for African American Heritage Month and co-organizer for the African Diaspora Film series.

James Landers

James Landers is an adjunct instructor in the English Department and works as the Public Affairs Director for the Mayor's Commission on Literacy. He has a B.A. in English from Temple University and an M.A. in English from Beaver College. Previous work experience has included developing instructional materials for pharmacists and physicians and writing user manuals for computer and electronics companies. Mr. Landers taught business writing classes and workshops for the Insurance Society of Philadelphia and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Clean Air Council of Philadelphia.

Janis Laurie

Janis Laurie is a Program Administrator in the Division of Business and Technology. She has a B.S. in psychology from Temple University and an M.L.S. degree from Drexel University. She has a background in business management and professional training. In her work at the College, she was responsible for administering a new program for UPS employees, shepherding the first group of students from initial placement testing through graduation.

Huizhen Ren

Huizhen Ren is the Coordinator of English as a Second Language Programs and Services in the Division of Educational Support Services. She received her B.A. in English from Tianjin Normal University in Tianjin, China and completed M.Ed. and Ed.D. degrees in English Education at Temple University. Prior to coming to work at the College, Dr. Ren served as Acting Director and Assistant Professor of the English Language Enrichment Center at Temple University and Director of the Special Recruitment and Admissions Program, also at Temple. Dr. Ren has served on numerous College committees, including several hiring committees.

Carline Rucker

Carline Rucker is an Audio Visual Technician for Audio Visual Services. Ms. Rucker has an A.A.S. degree in Office Administration from Community College of Philadelphia and is currently doing course work in Computer Information Systems. Ms. Rucker is currently a Co-Chair of the Classified Unit of the Faculty and Staff Federation at the College. She serves on the Classified/Confidential Professional Development Advisory Board and is an active member of several College committees. Her numerous volunteer activities include membership on the Parent Advisory Council of the Discovery Charter School and participation in the Prison Ministry Outreach Program.

Dawn Sinnott

Dawn Sinnott is a Research Associate in the Office of Institutional Research. She has an A.A. from Broome Community College in Binghamton, New York, and has earned a B.S. in Management and a Master of Public Administration degree, both from Binghamton University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Psychology at Capella University. Her previous positions include Director of Institutional Research and Planning for Broome Community College and Branch Manager/Director of Asia Pacific Business Development for Waters Information Services in New York City. Ms. Sinnott has served on a variety of College committees. She has served on the Broome County Public Library Board of Trustees, among other volunteer activities.

Tarsha Walton

Tarsha Walton is an Assistant to the Director in the Office of Student Records and Registration. She has an A.A.S. in Computer Information Systems and an A.A.S in Office Science, both from Community College of Philadelphia. While pursuing her studies, she was inducted into both Phi Theta Kappa and the Office Administration Honor Society. Ms. Walton began her employment at the College in 1996 as a clerical specialist in the Archiving and Research Unit of Student Records and Registration.

Vida Wright

Vida Wright is the Coordinator of Alumni Relations in the Office of Institutional Advancement. Ms. Wright received a B.S. in Administration of Justice and Political Science with a minor in Women's Studies from Livingston College, Rutgers University. She received her law degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Texas Southern University. As a legal assistant, Ms. Wright performed research in various areas of the law, including corporate, international, contract, construction and employment law. Prior to joining the staff of Institutional Advancement, Ms. Wright was an Employment Development and Placement Coordinator for the College's Next Step Program.

James Canonica

James Canonica is the Director of Academic Advising and serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Computer Information Systems department. Dr. Canonica received his Associate's degree from Community College of Philadelphia and graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. He received an M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his Doctor of Education degree at Wilmington College in 2002. He participates in professional organizations as well as community volunteer work.

Deborah Coley

Deborah Coley is a Typist Clerk A for Math, Science and Health Careers. Ms. Coley received Associate's degrees in Applied Science and General Studies and a certificate in Management with Honors, all from the Community College of Philadelphia. Since coming to work at the College in 1993, she has held several clerical positions and served as Administrative Assistant to the Coordinator of the New Choices/New Options program. She has been involved in a number of professional activities at the College.

Patricia Conroy (Savoni)

Patricia Conroy (Savoni) is a Recruitment Coordinator for the Office of Recruitment and Admissions. Ms. Conroy received her B.A. in Communications from Beaver College. She worked in the areas of recruitment and admissions for other area colleges and universities before coming to work at the College in 2001. Ms. Conroy has a record of service to the College and to her profession.

Anthony Driggers

Anthony Driggers is a Site Administrator at the Northeast Regional Center. Mr. Driggers is a graduate of Howard University where he received a B.A. in Business Administration Management. He also received an M.S. in Administration from Lincoln University and is currently enrolled in the doctoral program in Higher Education Administration at Widener University. Mr. Driggers held several positions at local colleges and universities before arriving at the College in 2001 and has special expertise in college admissions.

Suzanne Felix

Suzanne Felix is the ABLE Grant Administrator for the Adult Education Programs. She came to the College in 1998 after holding teaching and administrative positions, most recently as Special Projects Coordinator for the Mayor's Commission on Literacy. Ms. Felix earned a B.S. in Government and Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She has completed graduate courses in African-American Studies at Temple University and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Training and Development at St. Joseph's University.

Roger Garbett

Roger Garbett has been an engineer for Facilities Management since 1991. Mr. Garbett earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Eastern University and is currently enrolled in the M.B.A. program at Wilmington College. In addition, he has studied at the Center for Urban Theological Studies and the Philadelphia Wireless Institute, and participated in the Marine Mechanic Apprenticeship Program. In June, 2000, Mr. Garbett established Assignment Hope, a non-profit, long-term residential facility for people seeking to overcome drug addiction. He has served as a union representative and a member of the negotiating team for Classified employees, and he has worked on numerous College committees.

Barry George

Barry George is an adjunct faculty member in the English and Learning Lab Departments. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and obtained his J.D. from Duke University Law School. He served as a Law Clerk in Federal District Court and wrote briefs for state and federal appellate courts. Mr. George served as advisor to faculty representatives on the Advisory Committee for Part-Time Faculty, created by the Pennsylvania State Legislature to study the situation of part-time faculty in higher education. His campus activities include poetry readings and departmental service. He is a trained mediator and a highly regarded writer of haiku.

Michael Harry

Michael Harry has served as Assistant to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment since 1999. He attended the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He has also studied management at the Plato Learning Center and sales at the Dale Carnegie Institute. Mr. Harry held several sales and management positions prior to becoming employed at the College. He has a strong record of service both within the College and in the community.

Eve Highstreet

Eve Highstreet is a Testing Administrator for the College Assessment Center. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine, and has obtained a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Early in her career, Ms. Highstreet held positions as a counselor at an Emergency Shelter and as a caseworker for a group home and homeless shelter in Maine. Prior to coming to work at the College, she served as a counselor and internship coordinator at the Community Women's Education Project in Philadelphia.

Jane Jacobs

Jane Jacobs is currently a Visiting Lecturer in the Social Sciences Department. Ms. Jacobs had a double major in English and sociology at the University of Albany and graduated magna cum laude. She received her J.D. from Fordham University Law School. Ms. Jacobs has served as an Assistant Attorney General and practiced corporate law. More recently, she has taught courses at the Wharton School of Business and Peirce College as well as the Community College of Philadelphia. Ms. Jacobs has a record of service to the College and is active as a volunteer in the community.

Theresa Marsh

Theresa Marsh is an adjunct faculty member in the English Department. Ms. Marsh has a B.S. in Speech (Theater) from Northwestern University, a Master's degree in Speech Arts from Teacher's College, Columbia University, and a Master's degree in Journalism from Temple University. Along with extensive experience as a writing instructor, she has held positions in public relations. Ms. Marsh is a playwright, composer, producer and director and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Actors Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Actors.

Kathleen Mulray

Kathleen Mulray is a Site Administrator for the Northeast Regional Center and has served as Acting Site Coordinator. Ms. Mulray received an A.G.S. degree with Highest Honors from Community College of Philadelphia and obtained a B.A. with Honorable Distinction in Organizational Management from Eastern University. She is currently pursuing an M.S. in Management/Leadership at Thomas Edison State College. Ms. Mulray has an extensive record of community service and service to the College.

John Pinto

John Pinto is an Associate Professor and Department Head for the Learning Lab. Mr. Pinto began his service to the College as a peer tutor in 1973. He has an Associate's degree in Arts and Sciences from Community College of Philadelphia, a B.A. in Spanish Education from La Salle University, and a Master's in Education in Teaching English to Speakers of other languages from Temple University. Mr. Pinto has been active on numerous departmental and college-wide committees. He is a member of several professional organizations and does extensive volunteer work in the community.

Michael Stern

Michael Stern is an Instructor in the Design Technologies Department. Mr. Stern graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Design of the Environment from the University of Pennsylvania. He received a Certificate in Historic Preservation and a Master of Architecture degree, also from the University of Pennsylvania. A registered architect, Mr. Stern has been a Project Director for Neighborhood Initiatives for the Foundation for Architecture and has taught courses at Philadelphia University.

Eileen Abrams

Eileen Abrams has been an adjunct faculty member in English since 1999. She is an honors graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has a master's degree from Goddard College and a Master of Education degree in technology in education from Rosemont College. Abrams has administrative experience working for non-profit organizations and was a teacher for the School District of Philadelphia. She is a volunteer for a number of community groups.

Brandee Allen

Brandee Allen is a technical specialist in the Office of Academic Affairs. Before coming to the College in 1992 as a clerical specialist in word processing, Allen held a number of clerical and technical positions in Philadelphia. She has an associate's degree in management from Community College of Philadelphia and certification as a data entry technician from the Philadelphia Training Center Career Institute. Allen has served on a number of College committees and is a volunteer for neighborhood school programs and initiatives.

Peter Baratta

Peter Baratta was promoted to Senior Recruitment Coordinator in the Division of Student Affairs in 2001 after starting as a recruitment coordinator at the College in 1998. Baratta is involved in a number of college activities, including serving as project manager for the Opportunity Now Program and co-chair for the academic affairs subcommittee on academic support. Baratta is a graduate of Penn State University with a B.A. in journalism. Before becoming involved in college admissions, he was a newspaper reporter and an employment consultant.

Francie Blake

Francie Blake is an associate professor of English. She has been a member of the full-time college faculty since 1993 and has assumed leadership roles for a number of initiatives, including serving as the vice-chair for the President's Diversity Council and as the co-director for the Bucknell/STEP Program. Blake received her B.A. in Spanish from Sonoma State University, her M.A. in linguistics from San Jose State University, and her Ph.D. in multilingual/multicultural education from Florida State University.

Lyvette Brooks

Lyvette Brooks is the Coordinator of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. She came to the College in 2001 after working as Associate Director of Major Gifts for the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Brooks received her B.A. in management and economics from Fisk University. She was a participant in the Urban League Leadership Institute in 2001.

Melanie Brown

Melanie Brown is an assistant professor of English. She started her employment at the College as a visiting lecturer and became a member of the full-time faculty in 1999. She serves on many college committees and provides active service in her church. Brown received her B.A. in elementary education from Kutztown University, her master's degree in elementary education from West Chester University, and master degree equivalency in reading.

Arlene Caney

Arlene Caney is an associate professor of Music. Caney started her career at the College as a visiting lecturer in 1975. She has held many leadership positions at the College, including serving as a department head and chairing committees. She is active as a volunteer for community groups. Caney received her bachelor's and master's degrees in music from Temple University and completed coursework toward a doctorate in musicology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Judith Dalton

Judith Dalton is Associate Director of Recruitment and Admissions. She first came to Community College of Philadelphia in 1989 as Assistant to the Director of Financial Aid and was promoted twice to reach her present position. Dalton received her undergraduate degree in business administration from LaSalle University and her Master of Education degree in psychoeducational processes from Temple University. Dalton is a member of a number of professional organizations.

Theresa Grady

Theresa Grady is an instructor and department head for dental studies. Grady became a member of the full-time faculty in 2001 after serving for a number of years as an adjunct faculty member. She holds an associate degree in dental studies from Community College of Philadelphia, a B.S. in dental education from Thomas Jefferson University, and a master's degree in health education from St. Joseph's University.

Randy Libros

Randy Libros is associate professor and department head for Electronics Engineering Technology. Libros has assumed many leadership roles since he first came to the College in 1991, including co-chairing the Dimensional Review Committee and serving as a co-chair for a Middle States Standards committee. Libros holds an associate's degree in electronics engineering from Temple University and both a B.S. in electrical engineering and an M.S. in biomedical engineering from Drexel University.

Eric Massenburg

Eric Massenburg is a computer technical specialist for Information Technology Services. In addition, he serves as co-chair of the classified staff union. Before coming to the College in 1992, he was employed in information technology services in a variety of positions. Massenburg graduated with honors with associate degrees in marketing, management, and general studies. Massenburg has been a member of numerous College committees and currently serves on the Middle States Self-Study Steering Committee. He also participates in a number of activities in service to the local community.

Marian McGorry

Marian McGorry is an associate professor and department head for Office Administration. She started her association with Community College of Philadelphia in 1976 as an Instructional Aide. McGorry has an A.A.S. in secretarial science from Community College of Philadelphia, in addition to a B.S. in business education, and Master of Education degree in business education, both from Temple University. McGorry is a member of a number of professional organizations and has been active on many College committees, including serving currently as a co-chair for the General Education Standard Committee for the Middle States Self-Study.

Deborah Rossi

Deborah Rossi is associate professor and department head for Medical Assisting/Office Management. Rossi has served on a number of College committees since coming to the College in 1984, including serving as co-chair of the Middle States Assessment of Student Learning Committee. Rossi also chairs the Curriculum Review Board for the American Association of Medical Assistants. Rossi has a B.S. in health administration from Southern Illinois University and an M.A. in health service management from Webster University.

Karen Schermerhorn

Karen Schermerhorn is a Professor of English and co-chair of the Faculty Federation. She is an honors graduate of the University of Rochester, received her M.A. in English from New York University and her Ph.D. in English from the University of Minnesota. She has been a faculty member at the College since 1967. During her professional career at the College, she has served on numerous committees as well as being an active part of a variety of initiatives at the local, state, and national levels.

Tarsha Scovens

Tarsha Scovens became Coordinator of Career Information and Placement Services at the College in 2002. Scovens has a B.A. in liberal studies from Virginia Wesleyan University. In the past, she worked as a recruiter/program manager for a for-profit company. She is involved in a number of College initiatives and has served as a tutor, mentor, and facilitator in service to different groups.

Carmen Serrano

Carmen Serrano is an associate professor in counseling. Serrano has been active on many committees, often serving as committee chair, since coming to the College in 1975. She also volunteers for a number of community groups and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society. Serrano has a B.A. in sociology from William Woods College and an M.A. in counseling from Glassboro State University.

Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith is department head for social sciences and the Coordinator of the Paralegal Studies Program. In addition, Smith is currently serving as co-chair of the Institutional Effectiveness Committee for the Middle States Self-Study. Smith first joined the College in 1996 as an adjunct faculty member and became a member of the full-time faculty in 1998. Smith received her B.A. in history from the College of the Holy Cross and her J.D. from Antioch University. She still serves as an arbitrator for the Court of Common Pleas.

Jenavia Thompson-Weaver

Jenavia Thompson-Weaver is an assistant Director for the Office of Student Activities, where among other things, she is responsible for planning and directing student leadership development activities and programs. Before coming to Community College of Philadelphia in 1999 as Coordinator of Community Involvement, Thompson-Weaver held various positions in Philadelphia as a social worker and fundraiser. She earned a B.S. in applied social sciences with a minor in marketing from Binghamton University.

Neil Wells

Neil Wells is an assistant professor of English and Assistant Department Head for Developmental English. Wells was first employed by the College as an adjunct faculty member in 1991 and became a full-time faculty member in 1997. Wells is involved in a number of college initiatives. He holds a B.A. in psychology and English from Penn State University and an M.A. in English from New York University.

Jacqueline Wong

Jacqueline Wong is an adjunct faculty member in the Mathematics and Computer Information Systems Departments since 2001 and formerly a tenured faculty member at the College between 1983 and 1992. She has a diverse career in higher education, including serving on the faculty and in administrative roles in Hong Kong. Wong received both her B.A. and M.B.A. from Temple University. She is the author of numerous publications and is the Secretary of the Board for the Chinese American Women Sisterhood of Philadelphia.
