College Open on Wednesday, January 28

Community College of Philadelphia will reopen on its regular schedule on Wednesday, January 28. All classes, work and activities will resume as normally scheduled.

Refund Periods

To be eligible for any refund, the student must officially drop from the course or courses (no show withdrawals are not eligible). A refund for drop will not be issued that is greater than 100% of tuition and refundable fees minus any non-refundable fees and required deposits. In accordance with federal student aid regulations, any student who receives federal financial aid and withdraws before completing 60% of the term will have all or a portion of that aid returned to the federal fund before any refund is issued.

Refunds of eligible payments will be made according to the following schedule:

  • Students that drop prior to the start of a term will be eligible for a refund of 100% of tuition and refundable fees minus any required deposits
  • Students who drop all of their courses during the Add/Drop period will be eligible for a refund of 100% of tuition and refundable fees minus any non-refundable fees and required deposits
    • Through the end of the first seven calendar days of a 15-week term
    • Through the end of the first five calendar days of a 10-week term
    • Through the end of the first two calendar days of class for a term that is seven weeks or shorter
  • Additional partial refunds will be made in accordance with the table below minus any financial aid that is required to be returned, any non-refundable fees and required deposits.

Extenuating Circumstances

Students with documented extenuating medical complications, or personal emergency or situation such as the death of a close relative, can use the Special Request Form for Student Financial Account Adjustment (available in the Electronic Forms section of MyCCP) to petition to receive the 50% tuition for the course that was dropped. Adding a course after the first course meeting requires signature(s) from the professor and/or department head as per registration policy.
