Dining with the African Diaspora

Wednesday, February 28, 2024 - 11:00am to 1:00pm

2/28, 11-1 pm - Lion Leader Student Programming Board hosts the Black Faculty and Staff Alliance Dining with the African Diaspora, Winnet Lobby. Come sample the rich and tasty food from the different parts of the African diaspora. The African Diaspora speaks of the worldwide collection of communities and people descending from Africa still living in Africa, the U.S., the Caribbean and any land where African slaves were.

Sessions begin Thursday, September 28, 2023, to February 29, 2024. 
Zoom and in-person sessions will introduce all of the CSLD programs and provide links for Pride Portal Training (How to register the Org/Club; How to set up a Zoom and in-person meetings; all the “How To's” provided links/videos from Campus labs provides as a resource; provide guidance/suggestions on how to create engaging programs for their particular cohorts; manage student clubs online and answer in-person questions. 
Note: To Start a Club:
* 4 Currently enrolled students, each with min. 2.5 GPA. New students are exempt from the GPA requirement.   
* All students and club advisors who wish to start a club or re-activate must attend at least one session. Each club must have at least 2 members and the Club Advisor attend ( *Only CCP Staff, Administrator, and Faculty employees are eligible to be club and or organization advisors)
* Advisors must send in proof of enrollment and GPA by attaching the BANNER screen printout.  SFAREGQ FOR ENROLLMENT AND SHATERM FOR G.P.A. -or- THE STUDENT DATA FORM WHICH ALSO SHOWS ENROLLMENT AND G.P.A. EMAIL jjweaver@CCP.EDU 
* Each year, the last day to activate a student club is the Friday prior to Spring Break.  The last training session will be held Thursday, 2/29/24. The deadline to complete all criteria is Friday, 3/1/24.

The Black Women's Wellness and Hair Fair

The Black Women's Wellness and Hair Fair

Thursday, February 29, 2024 - 11:00am to 2:00pm

Join us!  All are welcome! 
2/29, 11-2 pm, The Black Women's Wellness and Hair Fair, Bonnell Building Lobby 
The Black Women's Wellness and Hair Fair ( BWW&H Fair) is a celebration of the C.R.O.W.N Act (Creating a Respectful Open World for Natural Hair). Hair is a centerpiece of Black culture; it’s a symbol of identity, resistance, creative expression and freedom.  The fair will consist of community wellness ( Spirit, Mind and Body) partners along with Black haircare professionals as hair is understood as an essential component of a Black woman's wellness. Guest Speaker - Philadelphia Councilmember Kendra Brooks. 
There will be lots of free resources, giveaways, food and a special hot herbal tea hub to make your experience special!
