The Allied Health Department offers a series of degree and certificate programs, which are intended to prepare students to either transfer or to secure employment. Associate of Arts degrees in Health Care Studies and Health Services Management are focused on transfer to 4-year bachelor's degree institutions. Associate of Applied Science degrees in Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Medical Imaging, Medical Laboratory Technician and Respiratory Care Technology focus on developing skills needed for employment in these exciting fields, as well as to prepare students for transfer to bachelor's degree programs. We also offer four certificate programs in Medical Assistant, Medical Insurance Billing, Ophthalmic Technician and Patient Service Representative, that can be completed in one calendar year, and are also intended to prepare students for employment.

If you are uncertain which program and career path is right for you, most of the programs in the department share the same introductory course:  AH 101, Introduction to Health Care Professions.
