Graduation vs Commencement
Graduation requires students to submit an official online graduation application. When students apply to graduate the Records Evaluation Team will check to certify that all program requirements have been satisfied. Once approved, the degree will display on the student's transcript. Degrees are conferred at the end of any semester: December for the Fall semester, January for the Winter semester, May for the Spring semester, and August for the Summer semester.
Degrees are conferred 4-6 weeks after final grades are posted, then diplomas are printed and mailed.
Commencement is a ceremony held once a year that honors students who have or will soon complete all degree program requirements. Participating in Commencement does not mean that a student has completed degree requirements.
The Commencement Ceremony is held once annually in May.
