Instructions for Instructors Using Center on Disability Accommodated Test Administration Services

The Center on Disability (COD) provides a test administration service for instructors who are unable to administer accommodated exams themselves. Our goal is to ensure students with accommodations receive a fair and consistent testing experience, while supporting your instructional responsibilities.

To help us serve you effectively, please follow these procedures:

General Procedures

  1. Complete the Test Administration Form
This form is required for each test you’d like COD to administer. You can find it in the Forms section of our website.

  2. Submit the Form via Email
Email the completed form to   at least three days before the scheduled test. Include the course name and test date in the subject line.

  3. Use Separate Email Threads for Each Test Date
If you are submitting materials for multiple students taking the same exam on the same day, you may include them all in one email. However, please start a new email thread for each different test date. This helps us keep test schedules organized and ensures accurate administration.

  4. Provide a Contact Number
Include a phone number where we can reach you during the test. If we encounter issues and cannot contact you, the test may need to be rescheduled.

  5. Notify Us of Any Changes
If you update instructions after submitting the form, please email   to inform us of the changes.

Online Test Guidelines

  1. Adjust Timers for Extended Time
Ensure online test timers reflect the student’s accommodation. If you set an end time, allow at least 15 minutes for setup in addition to the extended time.

  2. Instructor Must Post/Publish Test
After making all necessary adjustments for accommodations, you are responsible for posting/publishing the test. COD does not have access to post or modify online tests on your behalf.

  3. Verify Passwords
Double-check that the test password you provide is correct.

  4. Test Location
Please ensure that the student knows how to locate the test within Canvas or any third-party platform that you use.

  5. Lockdown Browser Use
If your test requires a lockdown browser, we recommend students use their own laptops with the software installed. Please work with them to ensure compatibility.
