My journey started here [Community College of Philadelphia] after the conclusion of a tumultuous time in my life. I’m a spiritual person. I said a prayer—I had an epiphany. I remember writing a business plan for a nonprofit for resource assistance and information about nutrition. This opened my eyes to the food plight in the city. There are people in the city that don’t have access to decent food. And I remember thinking, ‘If I’m going to do this, I need to get an education.’

I came here and got involved heavily with Student Life, specifically LEADS, starting with a big nutrition fair here and at my church. I’m graduating in May after completing Communications here, and I’ll be furthering my education at Eastern University. There, I will continue the communications path!
