It was actually ten years in between me [thinking of and] actually attending Community College of Philadelphia. I always knew I wanted to go into English, but life has a way of getting to you. I had a daughter—she’s three years old now. When I was initially looking to go back to get my associate degree, I found out I was pregnant. I ended up moving back to Philly. As soon as I met the residency requirement to lower my tuition, I came here!

I really like it! I really enjoy my professors. I still get into really awesome discussions with my professors in the hallways. We both always end up being late. I really do love the faculty here—I’m glad I ended up coming here. I’m going to Temple University in September, so I’ll finish my bachelors in English and minor in Post-Colonial Feminism. We’ll see what sticks and resonates with me in the field of English after Temple University!
