Fendy

I came here straight from high school. I’ve never stopped going since 2012—so it’s been a long journey! I decided I wanted to do nursing since 2014. I’ve been working in the health care system since I was 16 years old.

I wanted to go to CCP [Community College of Philadelphia] just because it’s close and convenient, and also their Nursing program is one of the top in the city! I was telling my mom ‘if I don’t get in, I don’t know what I’m going to do!’ I’m actually glad I went to CCP, because a lot of people don’t think of CCP as being a great school, but it really is. If you go to college here in the city or go away to college, it’s definitely what you make of it. Whatever you put in is what you will get out of it.

Editor’s Note: Fendy will be graduating in May 2018 with an associate degree in Nursing. In the fall she will attend Ohio University to continue her nursing studies.
