Kristen Ainscoe serves as an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. Her courses concentrate on principles and disciplines in retail and reflect her 20 years of industry experience as a visual merchandiser, buyer, trainer, brand specialist, merchandiser, and product developer.
 
Prior to joining Community College of Philadelphia, she served as Assistant Teaching Professor in the Design & Merchandising Program at Drexel University. In addition to teaching, Ms. Ainscoe gained industry expertise as a Visual Merchandising Manager for Fashion Bug and Movado Group and a Buyer at Electronics Boutique and FAO, Inc before devoting her time to small business owners. As an entrepreneur, she works with businesses on window designs, store layouts, fixture solutions, social media strategies, and e-commerce development. She examines the needs of each business and executes an idea that will tell a story about the brand, customer, and product.
 
Her teaching pedagogy centers around experiential learning. This philosophy is executed in the classroom through community partnerships that transition classroom learning to professional practice. Ms. Ainscoe excels at making learning social and active to an ever-evolving student, and to make the classroom the most suitable learning environment, free from judgement and criticism, to discover a global world and effectively develop solutions to marketing and merchandising problems. Kristen Ainscoe earned her M.S. in Retail Merchandising and B.S. in Design & Merchandising from Drexel University.

Dr. Gayathri Banavara has 7 years teaching at LIM College and as an adjunct for 2 years at FIT. She has taught a variety of courses ranging from Corporate Social Responsibility, Brand Management, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Leadership, Negotiation, Management and Marketing. Additionally, she was invited to Taipei as a Visiting Professor during summer 2019 to teach Strategic Management in the Fashion Industry. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Banavara has worked for over 18 years in the consumer goods industry in India, Canada and USA. Currently, Dr. Banavara has research interest in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability in business. She has been interviewed on these topics by WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) and Columbia University Uptown Radio and had presented at conferences. Dr. Banavara holds an Ed.D in Organizational Leadership Studies from Northeastern University and Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Mercy College. She is an avid gardener and looks to spend quality time with family travelling.

Dr. Madison joined the CCP family in 2017 and was promoted to associate professor in 2022. She was awarded the Lindback Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2023. She teaches a variety of tourism and hospitality courses focusing on ways to prepare students for well-paid careers in the industry. Prior to moving to Philadelphia, Dr. Madison taught at Troy University and worked in the hospitality industry in event planning, hotels, country clubs, and various food service operations. Dr. Madison works to create outside learning opportunities that connects students with industry partners to develop and grow students’ careers.

Chef Andy graduated from CCP’s Culinary Arts program in 1998 and has a passion for educating tomorrow’s top culinary students. He earned his Bachelor’s of Business Administration from American Intercontinental. Chef Andy has taught numerous courses over the last twelve years including: Elementary Baking & Pastry, Advanced Food Production, Nutrition & Finishing, American Cuisine, and Quantity Food Preparation. He also enjoys watching soccer in his spare time and is an avid Philadelphia sports’ fan. He can be seen driving his Eagle’s Tailgating Bus down the Schuylkill Expressway headed to Lot P where he finds innovative and creative ways to cook and entertain his tailgating group.

Dr. Jocelyn Sirkis is an Assistant Professor in the Business Administration Department. She currently teaches Business Leadership courses, and has also taught Introduction to Business (MNGT 121), Principles of Management (MNGT 141), and Management Information Systems (MNGT 142). 

She began her career as an Aerospace Engineer and Mission Controller at General Electric’s Satellite Division before moving into Management Consulting at a subsidiary of Coopers & Lybrand and IBM. There, she consulted for Fortune 500 companies including General Electric, Bristol Myer Squibb, Ford Motor Company, and Owens Corning. Later, she became an internal consultant and leadership coach at Johnson & Johnson. She has worked at Community College of Philadelphia since 2007, initially as the Director of Professional Development for faculty and staff. She became an adjunct instructor in 2014 and a full-time faculty member in the Business Administration Department in 2018. 

Dr. Sirkis earned a BS in Physics from Stony Brook University, MBA in Management from Rutgers University, MS in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania, and DM (Doctor of Management) from the University of Maryland University College. Her interests include the juxtaposition between management and leadership, process improvement, and organizational effectiveness.
