CCP Music Dept Performance of Choir and musicians

Do you want to become a music producer, recording artist, composer, musician or music educator?

Are you interested in the music business, artist management, film scoring, engineering, performing in a band/orchestra or doing sound design for television and films?

The Music Department at the Community College of Philadelphia offers two degree programs to help you achieve your goals, Music Performance (A.A. MUSC) & Sound Recording and Music Technology (A.A.S. SRMT), as well as a Music Production Proficiency Certificate (MPPC) and Piano Technician Proficiency Certificate (PIPC).

The Music Department’s facilities feature a state-of-the-art recording studio featuring Pro Tools HD, an Allen & Heath analog mixing console, Waves Mercury, Izotope and Native Instruments plug-ins as well as a Mac computer lab with Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Native Instruments’ Komplete Ultimate, MakeMusic Finale and Propellerhead Reason.  The department also has a dedicated piano lab, practice rooms and a black box performance space for ensemble concerts and recitals.  Music theory courses make use of notation software to further enhance the course material and lecture courses are taught in the department’s dedicated ‘Smart’ classrooms for web interactivity and A/V instructional support.

The Community College of Philadelphia Music Department has transfer agreements with four-year music and production programs in the Philadelphia region, and will prepare Music Performance students for auditions into Bachelor of Music programs.
