Food Day
The College supported World Food Day on Oct. 24 and its mission of #ZEROHUNGER. To start the day, the College cut the ribbon on its new community garden, named Grady's Garden. The Food Day Expo featured healthy snack samples, guidance on how to eat a full meal on a budget, as well as a raffle prize and giveaways. Students led the Harvest Day Festival, sharing their take on autumn’s best-baked goods and crafts. The Culinary Arts program demonstrated how to cook up creative meals from budget-friendly ingredients. To support awareness and help end undernourishment, members of the College community donated non-perishable food items. The Food Day Expo was organized by the College‘s Food Collaborative, which is dedicated to addressing our students' basic needs while providing resources for success.
