Science Laboratories Panel Discussion and Tour
The new Chemistry and Biology Labs took center stage on Feb. 7 during a panel discucssion and tour. The morning began with a panel discussion featuring leaders in the health care field, including, Dr. William Wunner, Professor, Director of Academic Affairs, and Outreach Education and Technology Training, The Wistar Institute; Dr. John Lee, Associate Director, CAR-T Discovery and Platform Development, Jannsen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson; Dr. Darryl L'Heureux, American Medical Writers Association, Delaware Valley Chapter; Temple University Professional Science Master's Program; and Adebayo Bello, Alumnus; Genetic Counseling Assistant at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Faculty-led tours followed the panel discussion. These labs establish spaces that promote more collaborative interactions among students and faculty, creating a more open and social atmosphere to invigorate learning, and eliminate barriers and foster communication skills. The laboratories are vitally important in creating a student experience that will prepare them for a STEM program and be competitive in their field. By showing students what experiments and projects are possible with state-of-the-art equipment, we are giving them the tools they need to be successful in their career.
