Black and Gold Gala
The Black and Gold Gala is a premier charity event recognizing outstanding service of individuals and organizations that demonstrate involvement in community growth in the areas of education, business, social services and health. This recognition is awarded to those who exemplify leadership and are active in community initiatives in Philadelphia. Members of the community joined the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation and Honorary Chair, Mayor James F. Kenney, on June 13 at Vie to celebrate the outstanding contributions of Independence Blue Cross; Ronald W. Davis, Director of Diversity and Community Affairs at Parx Casino; Luis E. Torrado, Founder and CEO of Torrado Construction; and RoseAnn B. Rosenthal, President, CEO of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Proceeds from the event will benefit the 50th Anniversary Promise Scholarship, which provides Philadelphia high school graduates the opportunity to pursue an associate degree at Community College of Philadelphia with no cost for tuition and fees.
