Robert Hudson, an academic mentor and an integral part of the DACE team, is receiving recognition for his work and activism outside of the College.
Robert is the creator of the tech-based program, MentorPhilly, an innovative technology application that connects returning citizens with volunteer mentors that provide support and encouragement. The app makes access much more convenient and feasible for mentors and mentees. Hudson took the opportunity to perfect and roll out his MentorPhilly app during a joint program between Code for Philly, an organization that brings community members from across the city together to create civic-minded technology, and the College’s Reentry Support Project. The organizations co-hosted a “hackathon” that was designed to bring together teams of people specifically focused on creating technology to aid returning citizens. Hudson’s tool is an important development in the movement to support and reintegrate returning citizens. Congrats Robert!
