Seminar Description

Anti-trans bathroom bills, restrictions on gender affirming care, and portraying queer people as "groomers" are just a handful of examples of the over 1,000 anti-LGBTQ Bills have been proposed across the country in the last 3 years. While the majority of Americans can see this is designed to be a distraction, there is still a staggering amount of disinformation and myths being used to justify these bigoted laws which often go unchallenged. In this session, we will cover myths/lies about the LGBTQ+ community, corporate pride, pinkwashing, political scapegoating, and times in history this exact tactic has been used before around the world.
