Learning Goals

Participants will:

  • Learn about the Center for International Understanding and share ideas on international education and global diversity at the College.  
  • Learn about new and ongoing international faculty/curriculum development projects and grants at the College. 
  • Discuss ideas for assessing global learning and competency in the context of the General Education and the Academic Pathways, and strengthening diversity, equity and inclusion in international education. 
  • Share ideas for the fall 2024 International Education Week (Nov. 18-23, 2024) and the spring 2025International Festival (early April 2025)

Seminar Description

This session will provide information on opportunities to engage in new faculty and curriculum development opportunities across academic pathways during 2024-2025, share brief updates by faculty of their global experiences over the past year (with more extensive presentations later in the year), and solicit ideas for international activities. Share your ideas for events for International Education Week (Nov. 18-23, 2024) and the International Festival (April 2025.) Finally, we will discuss how to strengthen assessment of international education as well as strengthening diversity, equity and inclusion in various aspects of international education. All faculty, staff and administrators are invited. Please come and share your questions, ideas, and suggestions!  

The Center for International Understanding is one of three "Centers of Excellence" at the College (https://www.ccp.edu/about-us/centers-excellence/center -international understanding). The objectives of the Center include engaging faculty in research on and integration of international material into the curriculum, building partnerships that support global learning and understanding, and supporting co-curricular activities that engage students in international learning.
