- Learn how to use board games, like Checkers, in support of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
- Learn ways to adapt Checkers to teaching a diverse range of topics among a variety of student learners.
- Learn about the Gaming Alliance Club and how it can foster community among students of different backgrounds.
Seminar Description
Are you interested in exploring the use of games to support DEI Initiatives at CCP? In this seminar you will learn how to the implement Checkers and other games into your teaching to support inclusive learning in your classroom. During the session a variety of games will be explored, with a few demo activities conducted to illustrate how learning connected to gaming can take place. This work is part of the larger FCTL project Nick is pursuing in 2023-2024.
Additionally, how to support the new Gaming Alliance student club, and how clubs like it can foster community among students of different backgrounds, will be discussed.
