Seminar Description

Supporting the Second Shift: Student and Staff Caregivers at CCP. How many parents are in college? And how can we better support them? This presentation will discuss the aspects of the Family Friendly Campus Toolkit and strategies to support this high-risk population of students with a high stop out and dropout rate. The Toolkit can support making our campus more family friendly to increase the visibility of existing supports and improve services. We will examine CCP Policies around Parental Leave, Culture around Care Work, and Student/Staff Benefits. Participants will also discover ways to better support student parents and caregivers in your classroom.
