How Can HyFlex Learning Help Your Students Succeed?

Presenters: Melissa Altman-Traub, Karen Rege, Kelvin Veale, Clark Loveridge, Carla Perry, Yusefa Smith
Audience: Faculty, Staff, Administrators

Learning Goals

Participants will:

  • Describe the HyFlex class modality options at CCP and some possible advantages for students.
  • Explain the values of HyFlex learning: learner choice, equivalency, reusability, and accessibility.
  • Discuss the results of HyFlex learning from the pilot group at CCP thus far.

Seminar Description

Learn from the Online Learning department and members of the 2023 HyFlex pilot group about the HyFlex courses taught in the pilot program so far (Math 161, Biology 109, Nutrition 111, and Foundational Math 118). Learner choice has the potential to improve student success by removing the barrier of in-person or synchronous attendance, which can be helpful for the many challenges encountered by our students. We will introduce you to the training courses for faculty members and provide an update about the fall 2023 and spring 2024 pilot courses, plus how you can get involved. Student and faculty survey data and student outcomes will be shared and there will be time for your questions.
