Participants will:

• Be able to identify at least one state where LGBTQ Rights are under attack.
• Be able to understand the impact these political attacks have on LGBTQ students learners.
• Be able to identify misinformation campaigns targeting the LGBTQ community.

Seminar Description
In March 2023, investigative journalists from Mother Jones released an explosive report showing that the 400+ anti-LGBTQ introduced this year are actually part of a coordinated effort originating with South Dakota State Rep. Fred Deutsch, starting back in August 2019. Leaked emails show that this was a coordinated and targeted attack from law-makers and the network of activists and organizations leading anti-LGBTQ efforts and the anti-trans movement pulling the strings behind the scenes. This network has shaped policy in states all over the country, and the only way to prevent these human-rights-violating attacks on the LGBTQ Community is for Allies to understand their scare tactics and stand up against propaganda with no basis in science or reality.
