Seminar Description

Over 1,000 students are on academic probation each semester for the first time. Academic probation impacts students' path to graduation and significantly can impact their financial aid. At the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester, the academic progress policy changed for students to maintain good academic standing.

The Counseling Department created Campaign R.I.S.E. to provide preventative and proactive outreach to educate students on academic progress policies, develop practical academic success skills, and navigate support services. The focus is to empower students through information and purposeful connections to improve their academic situation.

This workshop will discuss the impact of academic probation on our students, the purpose of Campaign R.I.S.E., and expansion to date, highlighting our campus-wide collaborations and intentional student outreach. Join us as we discuss how you as a member of the campus community can help us empower students at one of the most vulnerable moments in their academic journey.
