Seminar Description

Attention to faculty professional learning has been the primary goal of the College’s hub for professional learning: the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL). FCTL has offered programming based on best practices that lead to student success. A five-year Title III grant provided the means to augment what was offered already and FCTL was able to explore sustained professional learning activities. However, for professional learning to be impactful and scalable, sustained faculty engagement is essential. While Title III can fund some of the professional learning activities, monetary incentivization is not always possible. FCTL and Title III are eager to listen to faculty’s voices and opinions on scaling faculty engagement in professional learning. Faculty are invited to join this session and share ideas on how faculty can support FCTL’s efforts in increasing faculty engagement in professional learning. Additionally, faculty will be asked to give input on how to sustain a culture of teaching and learning using faculty’s expertise, and brainstorm ways to incentivize faculty’s participation in professional learning.
