Seminar Description

The tenets of intentionality, acceptance, and present moment awareness are central to mindfulness, with a large body of research supporting the benefits of the practice in college settings such as increased focus, esteem, confidence coupled with decreased anxiety and stress. Capitalizing on this research while making the practice accessible, two professors at CCP, Elizabeth Catanese and Kate Sanchez, authored The College Mindfulness Workbook. This text is practical and accessible, with a myriad of exercises and self-assessment tools that can be readily incorporated into a college classroom. The workshop is being offered to both promote the use of the text and its activities as part of the FCTL Fellowship to support faculty to integrate mindfulness into the classroom.
