Program Description
Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Programs are a historical model for work-based learning that is seeing a renewal, a focus on non-traditional career areas, and resurgence in the 21st Century. This session will discuss modern Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship program models and their benefits for students and industry. A discussion will follow about the role the Community Colleges can play in Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Programs, with some examples of models from around the country. Finally, we will discuss current Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship programming at Community College of Philadelphia, and our plans to expand this programming in the future.
