Seminar Description:
Do you have an idea for a new academic program or initiative at CCP but don't know where to start? Do you want to support the expansion of restorative justice education in community and academic settings? Do you want to learn more about partnering with community practitioners and/or national organizations to build innovative programs in any setting? Come learn with team members who developed the Proficiency Certificate in Restorative Justice through numerous partnerships within the College, community, government, and national organizations.
Starting in 2024, Community College of Philadelphia partnered with the Center for Restorative Justice at the University of San Diego through the National Center on Restorative Justice to cocreate an undergraduate certificate in restorative justice in collaboration with local practitioners. Our presenters will share insights from building this new program and piloting it with our first two cohorts. We will offer a planning guide to help interested colleagues who want to support the growth of restorative justice education nationwide, who would like to learn from our process to create new certificate programs at the College, and/or who are interested in restorative justice and/or building academic programs in partnership with community practitioners and external partners.
