Program Description
Higher education today provides multiple choices for students to meet their career goals and aspirations. Colleges pay close attention to variable such as reputation, program content, price, location, and employment connections as obvious factors taken into account by students looking to invest in their education. However, with the expansion of choices, students can now add “student experience” to their list of considerations.
“Student experience” is “how students perceive interactions with the institution”. In addition to the social/emotional activities and networking (the extra-curricular facilities available to them during their time as a student that will nurture cultural, political, sporting, and artistic interests and peers), the foundation of the student experience is the interaction between staff and faculty.
Staff and faculty have countless interactions with students as their role is to facilitate the students’ enrollment and access to classes and content. With so many choices available, students now have the option to emphasize the importance of “student experience” by selecting institutions that demonstrate that students are valued and appreciated. In addition to education, colleges are now expected to provide an excellent customer service experience. In higher education, students are our customers. Without students, Community College of Philadelphia cannot exist.
This is an overview for training that will be an integral part of Community College of Philadelphia’s cultural shift to creating an environment that enhances our students’ experience and emphasizes customer service.
