Learning Goals
Attendees will learn how colleagues incorporated a High-Impact Practice into their teaching practice and how to get involved in this ongoing professional learning program this semester.
Seminar Description
Last semester, approximately 40 faculty from across the College were involved in a professional learning experience focused on implementing one of the following High-Impact Practices (HIPs) in their classes: Active Learning, Collaborative Learning, Open Educational Resources (OER), and Problem-Based Learning. In this 90-minute session, members of the College community are invited to hear about the experience firsthand from members of the Title III Professional Learning Core Team and members of the virtual learning communities. After a brief overview of the HIP, faculty will discuss an assignment they used to incorporate their HIP and reflect on challenges and successes. Additionally, members of the Core Team will share how interested faculty can participate in a HIP virtual learning community this semester.
