While we may not have been able to be together for summer and fall classes, we were able to stay connected as a community. Take a look at some of the events that took place this summer and fall, from Roary making an appearance at some Phamous Philly landmarks and construction at our new Career and Advanced Technology Center in in West Philadelphia, to our Snack Rack Curbside Pickup food pantry, our Enough is Enough Solidarity Walk, and lots of great Zoom events!

2020 has been a year of tremendous challenges. From the coronavirus pandemic to racial injustice to the Presidential election campaign, so much has happened this year that has made us frustrated, angry, exhausted and uncertain.

CCPTV’s six-time Emmy nominated show Drop the Mic invites student-poets from across the College community, past and present, to share their poems, stories, songs, etc., about the events and experiences that have most impacted them in 2020. From our collective voices, we strive to provide a space for understanding, healing, and hope.
Video Submissions are Due Sunday, November 1 at 11:59 p.m.
Interested in learning how to submit a performance video to be on Pass the Mic: A Special Drop the Mic Showcase? Please contact Dr. Michelle Myers at mmyers@ccp.edu.

When the College made the decision this past spring to operate remotely for the fall 2020 semester, we did so with the health and safety of our College community in mind. What was originally intended to be a short closure of our campus in March 2020 soon extended throughout the spring and into the fall. Today, COVID-19 persists, and as we head throughout fall and into winter, there still remains a high risk of community transmission of the virus in Philadelphia.

As a result, in order to ensure the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff, Community College of Philadelphia will continue to offer coursework primarily online in the spring 2021 semester.

August 31, 2020

The health and safety of Community College of Philadelphia students, faculty, staff and alumni remain our highest priorities. As a result, we are devastated to learn of the recent assault against Kendall Stephens, a distinguished alumna and Black woman of trans experience who commits her life to advocating for marginalized communities. Though Pennsylvania law still does not extend hate crime protections to LGBTQ+ individuals, the attack against Kendall seems to have been just thata hate crime.
