Dear Faculty and Staff:
I’m writing today to let you know about some changes to the upcoming fall 2021 semester.
Due to the City of Philadelphia’s recent mandate that all college students, faculty and staff must be vaccinated by Oct. 15, 2021, and in order to prioritize the safety and security of the community as the Delta variant of COVID-19 becomes more prevalent, Community College of Philadelphia will delay the majority of in-person, on-campus classes until Oct. 15, and instead offer these courses online until then. Starting Oct. 18, courses will be offered in their original format (hybrid or in-person). Beginning Oct. 15, staff and faculty who remain unvaccinated without an approved exemption will not be permitted on campus and will be subject to disciplinary action.
Catto Scholars starting in Fall 2021 joined Catto Scholars who started their journeys in Spring 2021 for the Catto Scholarship Family Reunion. The gathering, held outside on Aug. 5 at the Main Campus Winnet Student Life Courtyard, included faculty and staff who were on hand to share student support and campus life information, as well as swag, games, giveaways and live music by Spring Garden Records artist, DJ June Rodriguez. Mayor Kenney and Dr. Generals welcomed scholars to the event.
In order to prioritize the health and safety of the College community amidst the pandemic, students, faculty and staff will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 15, 2021. Beginning Oct. 15, students, faculty and staff who remain unvaccinated without an approved exemption will not be permitted on campus.
Masks will be required through the fall semester for all faculty, staff and students on our campuses, regardless of vaccination status.
The College will continue to enforce six-foot social distancing for all on campus and will operate at approximately 50 percent capacity this fall.
Due to the recent City of Philadelphia and CDC guideline updates surrounding masking, at this time, Community College of Philadelphia will again require all individuals to wear masks while on our campuses, regardless of vaccination status, through the fall 2021 semester.
Social distancing six feet apart remains in effect, and our reduced capacity measures on campuses this fall semester at approximately 50 percent will allow us to continue with this effort.
