- Clearly define career readiness and the NACE 8 Core Competencies that employers seek in early talent.
- Recognize career-ready skills that are already being developed through coursework, campus experiences, and everyday interactions with students, along with identifying opportunities to make those skills more visible.

Apply a simple career-ready formula: Action Verb + What You Did + How You Did It + Result/Skill Demonstrated to help students translate coursework and college experiences into strong resume language and communicate their value to employers.

Career readiness is already happening in your classroom, office, and interactions with students here at Community College of Philadelphia; you may just be calling it something else. Students are building the skills employers want; our opportunity is to help them connect their experiences to the skills they are developing.
Career readiness isn't always about teaching students something new. Sometimes it's about helping them recognize the professional value of what they have already learned.
In this interactive session, faculty, staff, and administrators will explore Career Readiness and discover how the work already underway across the College can help students connect their learning to their future.
