Seminar Description:
The Octavius Catto Scholarship provides students with more than financial assistance. Through individualized coaching, academic support, basic needs resources, career and transfer preparation, and connections to College services, the Catto Scholarship is designed to help Scholars persist, succeed, and complete their degrees.
Faculty are often among the first people to recognize when a student is struggling academically, personally, or with navigating College processes. This interactive session will help faculty better understand the Catto Scholarship and explore how faculty and Catto staff can work together to support Scholars before challenges become barriers to persistence.
Participants will learn how to identify and connect with the appropriate Catto team member, understand the roles of Catto Success Coaches and other program staff, and recognize situations in which a referral to Catto may be helpful. The session will also highlight practical strategies for communicating concerns, connecting Scholars to resources, and creating stronger partnerships between faculty and the Catto Scholarship team.
