What makes Community College of Philadelphia’s approach to community engagement distinctive? Drawing on feedback from CCP’s Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, this interactive session will explore how the College’s strong community partnerships, student learning experiences, and institutional mission come together to support student success.
Participants will look at practical examples of community-engaged learning and consider what makes these experiences meaningful for both students and community partners. Using a simple Community Need → Student Learning → CCP Mission + Impact framework, participants will explore how to connect what our communities' need with what students are learning and what CCP is here to accomplish.
The session will conclude with an opportunity for participants to identify one existing course, program, partnership, or student experience they can strengthen through a more intentional community engagement approach.
