Prepare for the Spring 2023 Semester
Set Yourself Up for Success!
Familiarize yourself with your Spring 2023 schedule.
Make sure you understand the format of your classes and where you need to go if your classes meet on campus. There are multiple ways to check your schedule.
Make any last-minute changes to your schedule.
If Nyou need to make a change to your schedule, make sure you do so by the day before the semester begins. If you need to make changes to your schedule after classes start, please schedule an academic advising appointment so we can help you avoid extra tuition charges.
Get organized.
Whether you use a paper planner or digital calendar, make sure you have a way to keep track of important dates and deadlines before the semester begins. Once you have access to your syllabi, it’s a good idea to record exam and assignment due dates for all of your classes in one place. Do you have two exams on the same day? That’s good to know so you can plan ahead!
Purchase or rent your textbooks.
Don’t wait until the first day of classes to buy or rent your books! Once you’re registered for classes, you can enter your J number on the bookstore website to pull up a list of required textbooks. Eligible students can use bookstore credit to pay for books in person or online.

- Monday, Jan. 16—Last day to drop 15-week (15A) and 7-week (7A) classes for a full refund. College closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
- Tuesday, Jan. 17—Spring 2023 classes 15-week (15A) and 7-week (7A) begin
- Wednesday, Jan. 18—Tuition due date for 10-week (10A) classes
- Thursday, Feb. 2—Do More! @ CCP. How to get involved outside of class
- Tuesday, Feb. 14—Spring 2023 classes (10-week) begin

Service Spotlight: Counseling
The Counseling Department offers free career and personal counseling services to all students. Counselors also provide registration assistance to new transfer students, readmit students and continuing students on academic probation. Students may come to campus for a walk-in/drop-in session, or attend a virtual drop-in session at the hours listed below:
Winter/Early Spring (Jan. 3–24, 2023)
Mondays and Tuesdays:
- Virtual drop-in, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Walk-in/drop-in, 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Wednesday through Friday:
- Virtual drop-in, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
- Walk-in/drop-in, 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Spring (Jan. 25 to May 3, 2023)
Mondays and Tuesdays:
- Virtual drop-in, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday:
- Virtual drop-in 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Walk-in/drop-in, 1 to 4 p.m.
Thursday:
- Walk-in/drop-in, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.

Need Advising Assistance
Academic advisors support first-time students and continuing students in good academic standing. We are here to help you identify program requirements; discuss concerns about your academic performance; help you explore goals, interests and potential majors; and more.
On campus and virtual Academic Advising sessions are available by appointment. Please follow our guide for scheduling an advising appointment with an Academic Advisor who is assigned to your major.
From Jan. 3–13, Academic Advisors will be seeing students for Same-day Appointments only.
