Your Story Matters - Resume Workshop

This virtual resume workshop is part of our February RISE From Within: Rooted, Ready, & Rising career-readiness programming, designed to help students and alumni prepare for the upcoming Spring Career Fair.
In this session, students will learn that their life experiences already count as professional experience. Through guided, supportive resume help, participants will practice turning work, caregiving, military service, leadership roles, and academic experiences into resume-ready skills and bullet points, even if their resume is unfinished.
The workshop also helps students challenge common thoughts, such as “I don’t have experience,” and replace them with confidence-building language they can use when presenting themselves to employers.
Learning Objectives:

Identify transferable skills from life, work, and academic experiences and apply them directly to a resume
Develop or strengthen resume content by reframing lived experience as professional value
Increase confidence in presenting personal and professional stories on a resume

Who Should Attend
