In partnership with the Theater Program at theCommunity College of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Theater Company will bepresenting on campus special performances of its upcoming world premiermusical, Night Side Songs. This ground-breaking ninety-minute new workexplores the intimacy of illness, mortality, and the incredible dignity ofcaregivers through the story of Yasmine Holly, a fictional character informedby interviews with real doctors, hospital staff, and patients, many fromright here in Philadelphia. Night Side Songs is a musical convergence whichreflects and celebrates Philly’s “eds and meds” community with humor,grace, and profound empathy.
