Juneteenth Celebration

Juneteenth marks our country’s second independence day. It is a holiday celebrated on June 19 to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S.

Join us on Main Campus in the Winnet Courtyard on June 18 for a celebration in honor of Juneteenth. Enjoy a free lunch with a menu inspired by traditional African cuisine, along with foods traditionally eaten on Juneteenth. We'll have giveaways, Juneteenth resources, music, African drumming and more!

At 1 p.m., join us for a drum circle—bring your own drum, bell or African shekere.

At 1:30 p.m., receive free fresh produce and fruit hosted from Grady's Community Garden.

Note: The College is closed on June 19 in honor of the Juneteenth holiday.
